UK public votes for Kia Sorento as ‘Best 7-Seater’

MANILA: Kia Sorento was hailed as the UK's “Best 7 Seater” at the sixth annual Auto Trader New Car Awards.

Consumers were asked to rate their cars across 16 different criteria, ranging from dependability and performance to aesthetics and running cost. They were also asked how satisfied they were with their car and whether they would recommend it to others.

A total 156,500 real car owners who voted for 19 of this year's 22 categories picked the winners of the Auto Trader New Car Awards, making the Sorento a true consumer champion.

Auto Trader Editorial Director Erin Baker said, “When it comes to a new car, a seven-seater is a great addition to the family. The Kia Sorento SUV is a comfortable car to drive, with some great features and accessories. Owners told us that the car was sturdy and comfortable. They loved the third-row space, luggage capacity and the level of the standard equipment.”

“The Auto Trader New Car Awards recognize the brands and cars that are doing it right in the eyes of those whose opinions matter most: consumers,” Baker added. “The awards are now in their sixth year and we had input from over 156,500 consumers telling us what they thought about all aspects of owning and driving a car. They prove how manufacturers are taking consumers’ needs into consideration and innovating to bring a great and wide choice to market. Kia, and all of this year’s winners, are incredibly well-deserving.”

Even before Sorento's latest recognition, Kia has already a history of winning in the Auto Trader Awards. The Soul EV was named as “Best Value Electric Car” last year, demonstrating Kia's leadership in the EV market. The third-generation Sorento had also previously won awards for “Best Car for Towing” in 2019 and 2020.

The Sorento is Kia's largest SUV in the UK. It has been meticulously designed and built to handle anything life throws at it, combining comfort and practicality with premium aesthetics, craftsmanship, and refinement. Sorento buyers in the UK can choose among three powertrain options: a 2.2-liter CRDi “Smartstream” diesel engine with 199 bhp, a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine with self-charging hybrid technology producing 226hp, or the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid featuring a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine and 261bhp.
