When 2019 Mazda 3 met Rankin

MANILA: Some combinations are deadly, while others are lovely. An epitome of the latter is the recent get together that consisted of the 2019 Mazda 3 cars and the renowned photographer, Rankin. The result was a photoshoot which has yielded some fantastic pictures of the all-new Mazda 3 sedan and hatchback.

In case you’re not aware, Ranking has previously shot portraits of the Queen of England, David Bowie, Monica Bellucci, Daniel Craig, Kate Moss, and many others. Thus, it must have been a great privilege for both the new Mazda 3 sedan and hatchback cars to pose for Rankin.

On his approach regarding the shoot, Rankin said, “I wanted to not only show the essence of the Mazda 3, but also evoke emotions with the viewer. I wanted to make the images really sensual so I approached the shoot in a completely different way. I have used light and created motion through actual camera movements, not retouching, that literally bring the car to life for the viewer”.

“We don’t design to a spec, we design to a feeling. It is also a story of pure driving pleasure and a challenging portrayal of true automotive beauty, a car that is as beautiful in motion as it is at rest”, cited Mazda 3’s chief engineer, Mitsui Hitomi.

Interestingly, different feelings and energies like Release, Serenity, Verve, Zeal, Liberation, and Panache are elicited by the Mazda 3 via the pictures captures by Rankin. Mazda recently previewed the 2019 Mazda 3 cars in the Philippines, and both the sedan and the hatchback are all set to land on the Filipino shores very soon.
