2019 Suzuki SV650X ABS café racer is in the Philippines

MANILA: It was not just the Intruder 150 that Suzuki Philippines brought out at the recently concluded 2019 Makina Moto Show. Another cool motorcycle that the Japanese automaker brought in was the 2019 Suzuki SV650X ABS. While the Suzuki Intruder 150 still remains to be officially launched, the SV650X ABS is now available in the country.

Based on the SV650 naked streetfighter, the SV650X ABS is a retro-styled cafe racer motorcycle. Ever since the success of the France Scrambler version of the SV650, Suzuki decided to bring out the cafe racer avatar and unleashed it in the markets around the globe.

The changes on the café racer edition of the SV650 include neo-retro styling, clip-on handlebars, headlamp fairing, and tuck-and-roll seat. At the front, the Suzuki SV650X ABS gets 41 mm forks with adjustable preload, while there is a monoshock at the rear with seven preload settings. Braking setup on the care racer includes 290 mm dual front discs and a 240 mm rear disc. Suzuki has also equipped the motorcycle with dual-channel Nissin ABS for enhanced braking performance even in harsh conditions.

Speaking of the mechanicals on Suzuki SV650X ABS, the motorcycle is underpinned by a lightweight trellis frame and gets its power from a 645cc twin spark DOHC V-twin that is Euro 4 compliant. In terms of power, the V-twin generates a maximum power of 71 PS at 8,500 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 8,100 rpm. With a seat height of 790 mm, wheelbase of 1445 mm, and ground clearance of 135 mm, the Suzuki SV650X ABS weighs 198-kg wet.

The instrument cluster on the Suzuki SV650X ABS is all-digital with an LCD screen. There is also a low RPM assist that prevents the motorcycle from stalling at low rpm levels.
