Honda unveils new CBR150R at 2019 BIMS
MANILA: Honda has unveiled the 2019 CBR150R at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show. The Thai-spec motorcycle gets a complete makeover, in terms of design and also gets a lot of new equipment.
2019 Honda CBR150R gets a sharper design when compared to the outgoing model. It comes with twin-pod, full LED headlight as before. The windscreen becomes taller, which helps enhance windblast protection. Honda gives a premium look to its taillights and LED blinkers.
The instrument console is upgraded and now comes with a new display color. The petrol tank has a capacity of 12-litre. The graphics all over the body is new. Also, there is a split-style seat with the pillion’s position a little bit higher than the rider.
The motorcycle comes with four color options in the Thai market - Red/Black, Black, Orange (with Repsol racing livery), and Blue/Black.
Apart from all these, not many changes are made in the mechanical components. The bike is equipped with the same 149 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled mill, which is capable of pumping out a maximum power of 17.1 PS while the peak torque is 14.4 Nm. The maximum power and the peak torque comes at 9,000 rpm and 7,000 rpm, respectively. The power is sent to the ground via a six-speed manual gearbox. The manufacturer claimed that the bike could return a top-speed of 135 kmph.
Coming to the suspension, the two-wheeler features conventional forks at the front and monoshock unit at the rear. Disc brakes on both the wheels handle the braking duties. 2019 CBR150R is further enhanced by ABS, which is available as an option. The ABS version comes with an Emergency Signal Stop (ESS) system and petal-type discs.
However, there is no information available about 2019 Honda CBR150R arrival in the Philippines. As it is a regular model in the Honda Philippines’ portfolio, we can expect it to launch in the country very soon.
