Honda XRM125 DS rolls out of PH production complex as 9-M milestone model

MANILA: Honda Philippines, Incorporated (HPI) breached the nine-millionth production milestone since it started manufacturing two-wheelers in 1973.

In a statement, the company shared that the aforementioned feat bolsters its commitment to providing “high quality, reliable and environment friendly motorcycles that have become a cornerstone of Filipino transportation.”

The ceremony conducted at the Batangas complex was led HPI President Takeshi Kobayashi and Asian Honda Company Limited Executive Vice President Akira Koimai.

“HPI achieved the highest monthly wholesale record of 97,600 units last July 2025. Considering the positive momentum, we are confident that we can achieve more than 1 million units this year” Kobayashi said.

Per HPI, with the Philippine motorcycle market expected to grow with the continuous demand for Honda products, it plans to go beyond the one million sales and production volume “through a proactive and aggressive response with production efficiency and capacity.” 

To recall, it was only in May last year that HPI breached the eighth-millionth production landmark and the landmark unit that time was a Honda Click 125 in Matte Fiery Red Metallic that donned a special logo in the front fascia.

Highlighted in the program was the Honda XRM125 DS (Dual Sport) being the nine-millionth production milestone model.

Manufactured locally since 2007, the aforementioned offering continues to be one of the marque’s popular products in the country and overseas.

Motorcycle specifications

Let us check the specifications of the Honda XRM125 DS.

As seen in the photos, the model sports a red body color and comes with a “9” marker in digital font just above the headlamp that complements the existing sporty decal design at the sides. Aside from that, the motorcycle carries the same features.

On paper, the Honda XRM125 DS has the following measurements:

Among its notable features are the CRF-inspired headlight and winker design, handlebar and knuckle guards, digital meter panel, and undercowl protector, and 17-inch wire-spoke wheels wrapped in tubed tires.

Underneath the rider’s seat is a four-stroke single overhead cam, air-cooled, programmed fuel inject, 125 cubic-centimeter engine that is mated to a four-speed constant mesh transmission. This powertrain can dish out:

The said Euro3-compliant engine is also fuel efficient as it can do 65.4 kilometers per liter.
