MANILA: Honda Philippines Incorporated (HPI) has begun exporting the locally-made Click125 to Cambodia and Laos.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Honda Click125?

It uses a locally-made 125 cc engine with a CVT.
  • How much power does it make?

It makes approximately 11 horsepower and 11 Newton-meters of torque.

Export containers and actual motorcycle units prepared for shipment were also showcased during the event, highlighting HPI’s growing international business operations and dedication to delivering high-quality mobility products beyond the Philippines.

“The initiative marks another milestone in HPI’s commitment to bringing Philippine-made motorcycles to the global market while strengthening its presence across Southeast Asia,” the company wrote in a press release.

To note, the Honda Click125 is one of the brand’s best-selling models in the Philippines. That said, it has become a trusted nameplate among Filipino riders not only for its aggressive yet minimalist design, but also for its fuel-efficient engine and advanced features suited for everyday commuting.

Further, its reliable performance and riding comfort have made it popular among Filipino customers, which is why it is a strong model for export to neighboring Southeast Asian markets.

“The Click125 export to NCX Cambodia and Laos marks another significant achievement for Honda Philippines as we bring one of the most trusted motorcycle models of Filipino riders to international markets,” HPI President Takeshi Kobayashi was quoted as saying.

“This milestone reflects our commitment to showcasing the quality of Philippine-made motorcycles and delivering the ‘Joy of Mobility’ to more customers across the region,” he added.

Here are a few notable features offered by the Honda Click125 in the Philippines:

    Fit, finish

The Honda Click125 offers a sporty look — without being over the top — with its body panels that boast a decent amount of straight lines and aggressive angles.

At the fore is an updated headlight design with new “winkers” placed at the upper-most corner of the two-wheeler’s fascia. Moreover, the new headlamp system was designed to provide better illumination, resulting in a better long distance visibility with a wider field of view.

Redesigned, too, is its taillamp, which tapers to form a sharp rear end — for added character. This is accompanied by a new grab bar handle that offers a sportier appeal while providing passenger balance and stability.

Three-dimensional emblems on each of its flanks add a premium touch to the Honda Click125.

It rides on a pair of brown cast wheels with wide tubeless tires. These provide improved road stability and enhanced riding comfort, all while not lacking in style.

Rounding off its noteworthy features is its full digital meter panel, which offers a clear and modern display for easy monitoring of essential riding information.

    Powertrain

Propulsion for the Honda Click125 comes from a Philippine-made engine with a displacement size of 125 cubic-centimeters. The gasoline mill is mated to a continuously variable transmission, which helps the powertrain setup generate some 11 horsepower and 11 Newton-meters of torque.

Fuel efficiency numbers clock in at 50.3 kilometers per liter based on World Motorcycle Test Cycle standards.

Of note, the engine for the Honda Click125 was previously sourced from Indonesia. Just this February, HPI revealed that it is now being produced in the Philippines.

    Tech, safety

In the area of onboard motorcycle technology, the Honda Click125 comes with the new Honda Smart Key System, a new idling stop system, and a new USB type-C charging port.

Safety-wise, it has a combined braking system for more stable halts and smoother deceleration.
