3 reasons to pick the Mitsubishi Xforce GLX variant
Will set buyers back a hair under P1.2 M
Not too long ago, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) expanded the family range of the Xforce crossover.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What powers the Mitsubishi Xforce GLX?
It is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a CVT.How much power does it make?
The Mitsubish Xforce GLX makes 104 horses and 141 Newton-meters of torque.Added to the bunch is the now entry-level Mitsubishi Xforce GLX trim. But does a cheaper trim level mean car buyers are left with a trimmed-down version of the vehicle? We look at three reasons to consider why you should get the newest addition to the nameplate’s stable.

Appealing price tag
One of the most appealing reasons to get the Mitsubishi Xforce GLX is its P1.119 million price tag.
For comparison’s sake, the Nissan Almera’s top-of-the-line model costs P1.199 million.
On that note, it would not be difficult to understand why some Filipino buyers (with a budget a little shy of P1.2 million) might choose the Mitsubishi Xforce GLX, because many motorists have shifted from sedans and compact cars to those that can offer good ground clearance and can carry more loads.
Powertrain
Propulsion for the Mitsubishi Xforce GLX comes from a naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter gasoline-fed engine with Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) technology. The powerplant is mated to a continuously variable transmission.
As such, it makes 104 horses and 141 Newton-meters of torque.
It is also worth noting that the same powertrain specification is shared by all three variants of the Mitsubishi Xforce lineup, so car buyers are not missing out on performance even if they decide to get the cheapest model in the roster.
Decent appointments
Outside, the Mitsubishi Xforce GLX looks pretty similar to its more expensive brothers. Nevertheless, some features tell the vehicle’s place in the variant hierarchy, such as its monotone 17-inch alloy wheels and the camera-less side mirrors.
Familiar features come in the form of the eye-catching three-dimensional grille, its T-shaped headlamps, bumpers with fog lamps, wheel arch claddings, side sill garnishes, and a rear that is notably sculpted.
Inside the cabin, the lowest trim level comes with a 4.2-inch instrument cluster and an eight-inch infotainment system with connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The screen also doubles as a monitor for the reverse camera, which is a huge plus considering that it is a base model.
Other notable features include a center floor console with a cooling function, six speakers, as well as a single-zone manual air conditioning system.
