Chery Auto Philippines is well aware of the said fact; as such, it has launched the all-new Tiggo Cross at the Manila International Auto Show 2025. 

At a single glance from its spec sheet, the Tiggo Cross is a keen fit within the subcompact crossover segment. So, without a doubt, the Chinese brand’s local arm has gained a strong contender that is sure to attract plenty of would-be adopters. 

The Chery Tiggo Cross, however, does face a strong lineup of rivals. So, what models directly compete against the Chery nameplate, and what do they have to offer? Let’s find out here. 

Before anything else, however, let’s have a short summary of the specifications and features of the Chery Tiggo Cross.

Chery Tiggo Cross

Style-wise, the Chery Tiggo Cross features a quiet but elegant design that doesn’t employ hyper-modern details. It is straightforward as far as crossovers go, but it does have a tastefully hewn outline complemented by a wide black-colored grille, sharp-looking LED fixtures, and a set of 17-inch alloy wheels. 

Apart from the aforementioned, the said model also comes with roof rails, power-adjustable side mirrors, and LED daytime running lamps. 

Size-wise, the model is 4,320 millimeters (mm) long, 1,831 mm wide, and 1,652 mm in height. Its wheelbase, meanwhile, spans 2,610 mm. 

Inside the Chery Tiggo Cross is a neatly styled cabin equipped with leather upholstery, a well-arranged dashboard, and ample room for up to five occupants.

Toyota Raize

One of the biggest competitors of the Chery Tiggo Cross is the Toyota Raize. Currently, the Toyota-made subcompact crossover has a price ranging from P757,000-P1.074 million across four variants. 

Like the Chery Tiggo Cross, the Toyota Raize wears a recognizable crossover shape without too much in the way of unusual design choices. It does, however, have a stylish front fascia filled with plenty of angular details, as well as a two-tone color scheme for its top-spec 1.0 Turbo CVT variant. 

The lineup of exterior equipment for the top-spec Raize includes LED lighting, power-adjustable/folding side mirrors, 17-inch wheels, and LED daytime running lamps. Concerning size, it is 4,030 mm long, 1,710 mm wide, and 1,605 mm in height. 

Inside, the Toyota-made crossover boasts a contemporarily styled five-seater cabin equipped with fabric and leather upholstery (1.0 Turbo CVT), a digital meter cluster, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and a nine-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Also competing against the Chery Tiggo Cross is the Kia Sonet. As of this writing, the smallest Kia crossover in the country commands a price ranging from P778,000-P1.178 million across four variants. 

Visually, the Kia Sonet comes with an eye-catching front fascia thanks to the presence of the brand’s latest version of its “tiger nose grille.” The said piece is likewise complemented by its hook-shaped LED daytime running lamps and its “Star Map Signature” LED headlamp clusters. 

Additionally, the top-spec SX AT variant of the Sonet boasts a black colored roof and a set of 16-inch alloy wheels. It likewise comes standard with power-adjustable/folding side mirrors, roof rails, a sunroof, and 17-inch wheels. 

In terms of size, the Sonet is 4,110 mm long, 1,790 mm wide, and 1,642 mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,500 mm. 

The interior of the Kia Sonet SX AT, meanwhile, comes with leather seats, a 60:40 split-folding rear seat, and a single-zone automatic air-conditioning system.

Style-wise, the MG ZS adopts an elegant and sleek body complemented by sharp LED lighting fixtures, silver-colored roof rails, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, the MG-made five-seater has LED daytime running lamps, power-folding side mirrors, and a panoramic sunroof - among others.

For its dimensions, the MG ZS top-spec Luxury variant is 4,323 mm long, 1,809 mm wide, and 1,653 mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,585 mm. 

Found inside the MG ZS Luxury is a well-equipped cabin with leather-clad seats, electronic control air-conditioning, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats. Other notable amenities available for the top-spec trim are:

The MG ZS Lux doesn’t have a comprehensive ADAS kit, but it was equipped with blind spot monitoring and an automated parking assist system.
