Sustainable and stylish: Lynk&Co 01 colors

Lynk and Co Philippines — under the leadership of United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated — has introduced the 01 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) not too long ago. Its arrival meant that Filipino car buyers, who prefer eco-friendly models, now have a new option when choosing vehicles that are sustainable and stylish.

On that note, we take a quick look at the four available colors of the Lynk and Co 01.

Blue

Unlike other brands that come up with creative ways to call the colors they use for their cars, Lynk and Co stuck with the basics reflecting its minimalist and functional Swedish roots. The marque — for the uninitiated — is a joint venture between Volvo Cars and Geely, with the latter company owning the former.

The deep blue hue used for the crossover gives it a calm and composed demeanor. Still mirroring its no-nonsense origin, the paint is applied on a backdrop with simple straight lines that are as placid as the color itself.

From a distance, the Lynk and Co 01 offers a stoic stance. At the fore is a symmetrical fascia with both a honeycomb-style latticework and horizontal slats for cooling. Flanking the front end are high-performance double-lens LED headlights and daytime running lamps.

On its sides are linear bodylines complemented by black wheel wells, door claddings, and what looks like aerodynamically-designed five-spoke wheels.

At the back, the Lynk and Co 01 has a roof-integrated spoiler, horizontally oriented taillamps, and a beefy rear diffuser.

Gray

Gray and silver tones have often been associated with knowledge, wisdom, and technology. Fittingly, the Lynk and Co 01 is a hybrid crossover that offers a handful of technological features that could satisfy the tech-savvy car buyer.

Welcoming the driver is a flat-bottom, multi-functional steering wheel. Past that is a 12.3-inch, fully digital, multi-purpose instrument panel. Sitting beside it is a 12.7-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Audio played on the aforementioned center screen is directed to a 10-speaker Harman Infinity audio system.

It is worth noting that the interior layout of the Lynk and Co 01 echoes its exterior design language. The dashboard appears very perpendicular, reinforced by its symmetrical air conditioning louvers.

White

Those who have been following our feature segments will know that we always say that white is the color of safety. In fact, we can’t stress enough that white cars — according to studies — are less involved in accidents compared to automobiles sporting a different hue.

The Lynk and Co 01 is equipped with a host of advanced driver assist and safety features that can help one feel more confident when hitting the road. These include the likes of adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, traffic jam assist, and lane keep assist with lane departure warning.

Black

Arguably the sleekest color in the Lynk and Co 01’s pallet is an elegant, yet powerful black hue. It embodies its new-energy powertrain, which can both be graceful and intense.

Under its hood is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine mated to a seven-speed wet clutch transmission. The PHEV powertrain can put out some 258 horsepower with 265 Newton-meters of torque.

It offers emissions-free driving of up to 69 kilometers.

The onboard battery can be juiced up by using a Type 2 alternating current charging system.
