We’ll try and simplify things by breaking down each of these Ranger trims to give you an overview of what each can do and so you’ll be able to tell which one is right for you.

Ranger XLS

The entry point to the Ranger lineup is the 2.2L XLS 4x2 MT (manual transmission). It is the most basic a Ranger can get. Powered by a 2.2-liter Durtorq engine, it has 158hp and 385Nm of torque and is driven by a six-speed manual transmission. Cabin features include an eight-inch color touchscreen and six speakers. It comes with anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, hydraulic power-assisted steering, and sits on 16-inch alloy wheels. This is priced at P1.032 million.

Just above it is the 2.2L XLS 4x2 AT (automatic transmission) that’s priced at P1.092 million and comes with the same features and amenities as its manual sibling, but this one comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and cruise control.

Sprucing up the 2.2L XLS 4x2 AT trim is the Sport variant. It is an mirror image in features and capabilities of its base 2.2L XLS 4x2 AT except it has side steps and larger 17-inch alloy wheels with black finish. The 2.2L XLS Sport 4x2 AT comes in at P1.122 million.

If you really want the base XLS trim but prefer an all four-wheel layout, the 2.2 XLS 4x4 MT is the best choice. It also comes with the same amenities as the previous two models but instead of driving the front wheels, this has all four wheels doing all the work as it gets power from a six-speed manual transmission. Its price is P1.181 million.

The four-wheel-drive version of the XLS also gets a Sport variant. Along with the 2.2-liter Durtorq engine that has 158hp and 385Nm of torque, and the six-speed manual transmission. It also has an eight-inch color touchscreen, six speakers, and comes with Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and hydraulic power assisted steering. As the Sport version, it also comes with side stesp and larger 17-inch alloy wheels. This is priced at P1.211 million.

Ranger XLT

This trim starts with the 2.2L XLT 4x2 MT priced at P1.176 million. Like the lower trims, it has the 2.2-liter Durtorq engine with 158hp and 385Nm of torque, a six-speed manual transmission, an eight-inch color touchscreen, six speakers, and anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution. In addition, it now comes with a bedliner, front fog halogen lamps, rear parking sensors, an electrochromic rearview mirror, side steps, improved electric power-assisted steering, rain-sensing wipers and 17-inch alloy wheel as standard.

The automatic transmission model of the 2.2L XLT 4x2 comes with the same overall features but with a six-speed gearbox and is priced a little higher at P1.236 million.

This trim doesn’t have a four-wheel-drive model.

Ranger 2.2L FX4

The entry-level trim is the 2.2L FX4 4x2 MT, priced at P1.256 million and comes with an eight-inch color touchscreen, six speakers, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, a bedliner, front fog halogen lamps, rear parking sensors, an electrochromic rearview mirror, side steps, improved electric power-assisted steering, and rain-sensing wipers. It still has the same 2.2-liter Duratorq engine with 158hp and 385Nm of torque that’s paired to a six-speed manual transmission. New features of the FX4 include a rear sport bar black tabular, seats with the FX4 accent, steering wheel with contrast stitching, and 18-inch unique FX4 alloy wheels.

Its automatic version is bestowed with similar characteristics and qualities but uses a six-speed gearbox and is priced a little higher at P1.316 million.

Up the rung is the 2.2L FX4 4x4 MT that has a six-speed gearbox and is priced at Php 1.356 million. It gets all of the FX4 features, the same 2.2-liter Duratorq engine with 158hp and 385Nm of torque, the eight-inch color touchscreen, six speakers, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, a bedliner, front fog halogen lamps, rear parking sensors, an electrochromic rearview mirror, side steps, improved electric power-assisted steering, rain-sensing wipers, a rear sport bar black tabular, seats with the FX4 accent, steering wheel with contrast stitching, and 18-inch unique FX4 alloy wheels. What makes it different is the four-wheel-drive layout.

The top trim here is the 2.2L FX4 4x4 AT, which has all of the features of the FX4 but comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. Its price is P1.416 million.

Ranger Wildtrak

Before the Raptor, the Ranger’s top-of-the-line model was the Wildtrak, and this line continues to get some of model’s best features.

Right on top of it is the 2.0L Wildtrak 4x2 AT that comes with all that the manual transmission version has save but boasts a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It is priced at P1.455 million.
