Toyota Vios 2016 is Coming- Reason of Smile for Toyota Lovers

MANILA: Coming from the catalog of Toyota vehicles, Vios has dominated the Philippines auto maker since its existence in the country. The brand’s reliability and trust in addition to the comfort of a sedan make it the super loved car among the auto admirers. After being made its way to the Land of Smiles, it’s time for the sedan to make an entry to the Philippines turf and what would be a better platform than 2016 MIAS (Manila International Auto Show) whose doors go wide from 7th April, 2016. Following are few things to expect from the all-new Toyota Vios, the autogeeks are waiting for.

Striking looks

The new Vios in the Philippines will carry over the same design language from the Thailand-spec variant and is expected to feature swept-back headlamps, dual-plate chrome grille, large air dam at the front, well-contoured hood, body colored door handles and ORVMs, wrap-around tail lights and multi-spoke alloy wheels. The front is altered significantly to give it a more striking finish by adding new styling lines across the bumper.

Minor revisions inside

Although, the revisions inside are few, which are earlier anticipated to be a lot more, but the cabin is equally elegant as witnessed earlier. It still has a three-spoke steering wheel with audio controls mounted on the same, black color tone across the cabin with silver accents on the wheel, dash and door panels. For the entertainment front, a 7-inch infotainment system has been integrated to keep the passengers jolly throughout the journey as they can play their favorite tracks from the word go.

Power beneath the skin

The significant change has been done under the hood and talking about the Thai specs, Vios gets a newly developed 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine that can generate a max power of 108 hp along with a peak torque of 140 Nm. In Philippines, it is expected to be the same and would replace the older 1.5-litres (1NZ-FE) engine. The engine would be coupled to a new seven-speed manual CVT transmission system.

Safety front

Toyota, being famous for including a wide range of safety amenities in their vehicles, hasn’t disappointed us with the new Vios as well. The company has bestowed this Toyota C-segment sedan with all the essentials required to keep the passengers safe inside the car including Vehicle Stability Control, Anti-Lock Braking system, SRS driver and passenger airbags. In addition, it also hosts curtain airbags, which add icing on the cake when it comes to safety.

The sedan is expected to be centre staged at the upcoming 2016 MIAS and with all the elements and features it possesses, it will stand tall against the other competitors in the market.
