Zigwheels PH most viewed for 2025: Toyota Rush

The current version of the Toyota Rush sold in the Philippines has not seen a significant update for quite a while now, but regardless, users of Zigwheels Philippines are still giving it plenty of attention.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the price of the Toyota Rush in the Philippines?

In the Philippines, the Toyota Rush retails at P1.208 million.
  • What is the engine of the Toyota Rush?

The Toyota Rush uses a 1.5-liter inline-four gasoline engine.
  • In fact, the model was included in our list of top-viewed vehicles in 2025. So, what are the possible reasons for the Toyota Rush’s prevailing popularity among would-be car buyers? Let’s find out here.

    Why we think it's popular

Given Filipinos' family-oriented nature, one probable reason for the Toyota Rush’s enduring popularity is its seven-seater layout. But at the same time, the model isn’t so large that it becomes a chore to drive on in-city roads.

To be more exact, the model is 4,466 millimeters (mm) long, 1,687 mm wide, and 1,705 mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,685 mm.

And even with all three rows up, the vehicle has around 215 liters of cargo space. Fold its third row down, and one has access to 514 liters, which is more than enough for several pieces of luggage or a week’s worth of groceries.

On the one hand, newer multi-purpose vehicles (MPV) like the current version of the Toyota Avanza provide more elbow room compared to the Rush. However, the Toyota Rush uses a ladder-frame chassis, which is said to be more durable than the third-generation Avanza's unibody platform.

Ladder-frame chassis is commonly utilized on hardier vehicle types such as sport utility vehicles (SUV) and pickup trucks. It is likewise favored on these kinds of rides due to their load-bearing capacity and, for off-roaders, space for more robust suspension systems with extreme articulation.

Be aware, though, that ladder-frame-based vehicles have some caveats. For one thing, it will have poor torsional rigidity, resulting in “truck-like” cornering and handling. It will also make the vehicle heavier, which, of course, will have negative impacts on fuel economy.

On that note, would-be buyers who need to drive regularly on unpaved roads will be well-served by the Rush. The same goes for people who are a bit concerned that city roads with potholes will be better navigated by a more robust ride.

Additionally, the Toyota Rush is rear-wheel-drive. The aforementioned results in better weight distribution and weight transfer, at least compared to front-wheel-drive MPVs.

Apart from its robust build and seven-seater interior layout, the Toyota Rush is also quite accessible price-wise. Its sole variant for the local market, the GR-S AT, currently retails at P1.208 million.

With that price tag, the Rush GR-S AT is the most affordable vehicle with a Gazoo Racing badge in the local market. No, it doesn’t mean that it’s a high-performance nameplate, but it does get additional exterior touches such as:

    • GR-S front bumper
    • GR-S side body moulding
    • GR-S rear bumper
    • GR-S badges
    • Smoked LED headlamps
    • Smoked chrome grille

    Other Toyota Rush specs

Under the hood of the Toyota Rush is a 1.5-liter inline-four gasoline engine capable of producing up to 101 horsepower (hp) and 134 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. The said engine is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission.

For ride quality and stability, the Rush depends on a front MacPherson strut and a rear five-link suspension system. Stopping power for the vehicle is provided by front disc brakes and rear drums.

Inside the vehicle are fabric seats, a 60:40 split-folding second row, and a 50:50 split-folding third row. Everyone inside, meanwhile, is kept cool by an automatic air-conditioning system with rear auxiliary controls and vents.

The driver of the Toyota Rush has access to a manual-adjust seat, a leather steering wheel, a push-to-start button, and keyless entry.

Onboard entertainment and navigation, on the other hand, is handled by a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The said screen is linked to an eight-piece speaker set. Charging is done via USB ports and a total of three 12-volt accessory outlets.

Safety-wise, the model’s basic kit consists of dual front airbags, side airbags, and curtain shield airbags. It also has anti-lock braking, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and the Toyota Vehicle Security System. Supporting the aforementioned is a rear parking camera and a rear parking sensor.
