2019 Ford Mustang All You Need to Know

Dubbed as the legendary 'pony car', no one can deny that the Ford Mustang is the true epitome of an affordable sports car with powerful driving performance. The 2019 model of this premium coupe from the Blue Oval brand (Ford) is still equipped with a top-calibre engine and awesome technology fused with stunning design all built together to provide unparalleled performance on both tracks and thoroughfares.

2019 Ford Mustang exterior

Ford Mustang was first introduced in 1964 and was a product of a design contest between the automaker’s internal departments for something that will appeal to women but also personal and sporty. Since then, this line was known as the 'pony car' which is famous for being an affordable coupe with long hoods and short rear decks as well as muscular aura. Upgrades and major revamps were done until we saw the modernized pony cars nowadays in the likes of Ford Mustang and also gave rise to its competitors Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger.

Ford Mustang Review

Although we did not expect any major upgrade to the 2019 Mustang models given its 2018 glow up, it’s relatively surprising to see some touch-ups and additional options for car buyers. The active valve exhaust that allows you to control the loudness of your exhaust systems is not just exclusive to the GT variant anymore but also in EcoBoost! In addition, the 2019 model gets a suspension upgrade that reduces body roll and can improve handling called MagneRide.

Currently, the 2019 Ford Mustang Philippines is available in two engines — the 2.3L EcoBoost and the 5.0L GT. The 5.0L GT has the Fastback, Convertible Manual Transmission, and Convertible Automatic Transmission.

The 2.3L EcoBoost has an engine displacement of 2261 cc and is powered by an In-line 4 engine that fires up to 310 horsepower and 475 Nm torque . It shifts gears through a 10-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission which was equipped to provide quick shift times and exceptional low-speed tip. Meanwhile, all the 5.0L GT variants employ 5.0-litre gasoline-powered, V8 engine that can put out up to 460 horsepower and 570 Nm torque with the displacement of 4951 cc. The GT variants also utilizes 10-speed automatic transmission and the 6-speed M/T for the sole manual trim.

Apparently, the automakers gave a little more thrust to the EcoBoost variant’s performance as they equip it with the transient over-boost function which made the 2019 model torquier than the 2018 model. The V8 engine of the 5.0L GT also employs the Revised 5.0L TI-VCT V8 New Dual Injection System that gives more horsepower and higher-rpm power to the car.

2019 Ford Mustang performance

All cars in the Mustang stable are Rear Wheel Drive type which means the engine sends power to the rear wheels and it also pushes the car forward. This means that the front wheels are free to be maneuvered. Each trim is equipped with MacPherson Strut with Stabilizer Bar for the front suspension and Integral Link with Stabilizer Bar for the rear suspension.

Meanwhile, the MagneRide Damping System from the GT350 enables the EcoBoost and GT variants on having lightning-quick responsiveness to changing road conditions.

2019 Ford Mustang exterior design

The 2019 model still embodies the ravishing sporty aura of the Mustang line.. With the angst and the oozing masculinity of this car, you’ll surely want to get behind its wheels if you love that feeling of extremity with finesse. There were some revisions in the bumper, fascia and performance rear wing as well as the headlights that made it sleeker and more polished. The iconic three bars of LED lights are still present while the new dual exhaust with rolled tips has completed the sporty outlook of the car.

All the 2019 variants have a 19-inch alloy for the wheels. Whilst this is definitely a real deal already for the GT variants, you can still step up your game by ordering the GT performance package which includes: 19" Ebony Black-painted aluminum wheels with Michelin® Pilot® Sport 4 summer-only tires, TORSEN® differential, K-brace, Brembo™ brakes with 6-piston front calipers, a Gauge Pack in the instrument cluster, stiffer springs and upsized rear sway bar, and even a performance rear wing (for Fastback only).
The two convertible trims (both manual and automatic) has a straight muscle line across its haunches and a distinctively contoured lid with the tonneau caps that neatly slides in place for a sleeker and top-down finish.

On the other hand, the steering wheel is covered with leather and has control over audio, speed, cruise, and even LCD. Meanwhile, the gear shifter has a feel-good texture that adds to more comfortable driving.

The incredible all-digital Instrument Cluster is one of the best interior highlights of the new Mustang line. This 12-inch LCD gives you absolute control over everything in your car. You can change your gauge layout, drive mode, and even personalize the colors according to your mood through MyColor.
