2019 Toyota Camry receives 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating

MANILA: Toyota has been quite busy in recent times. However, the workload has not affected the safety aspect of its cars. Even while releasing numerous new and facelifted models in the year 2018,

Toyota managed to produce some top-notch vehicles. To name a few, all of Toyota Vios, Rush, and Fortuner received a 5-star safety rating from the ASEAN NCAP.

The newest entrant in the fleet of Toyota cars with a 5-star safety rating is the 2019 Camry. Tested in December 2018, this stylish sedan achieved an overall score of 91.47 points. Not only the car was appreciated by ASEAN NCAP for its safety assists, but it also secured almost a perfect score in adult occupant protection along with a high score in child occupant protection.

All of your neck, chest, head, and thighs along with shin will be secure in the mid-size sedan as the car scored 15.31 out of 16.00 in the frontal crash. What’s even better? The Camry scored a perfect 16.00 out of 16.00 in the side impact test. Coming to the child occupant test,

the 2019 Camry grabbed a perfect score in the test as the child occupants were found to be pretty safe during both front and side impacts. While some of the child seats may not fit in the new Camry, the ones which are compatible were found easy to install.

ASEAN NCAP also awarded the sedan with points for driver and front passenger seat belt reminders. All of ABS, brake assist, traction control, and stability control helped the Camry in achieving the high scores. Moreover, safety features like lane keep assist (LKA), automatic emergency braking (AEB), forward collision warning (FCW), and lane departure warning (LDW) were found to be really helpful.

In the Philippines, we get the 2019 Toyota Camry in two variants, namely 2.5G and 2.5V. Both the models are equipped with safety features like seven airbags, ABS, EBD, BA, hill-start assist, stability control, and emergency brake signal.
