2019 Toyota Granvia launched in Taiwan

MANILA: It hasn’t been too long since Toyota launched the all-new 2019 Hiace and here we have a much luxurious version of the van for those who want utmost comfort but cannot afford the likes of Toyota Alphard. As a matter of fact, Toyota has already used the title “Granvia” in the past for special versions of Hiace. Hence, a 2019 Toyota Granvia which is a much more sumptuous guise of the new Hiace shouldn’t be a surprise at all.

Let’s talk about the changes and updates now. Over the 2019 Toyota Hiace, the Granvia features a multi-slat chrome grille, all LED headlamps, and a set of better alloys. The use of chrome has certainly bumped up. At the rear, while we see additional taillight garnishes on the outside, the leaf spring suspension under the body has also been ditched for a much better and advanced multi-link setup.

Move inside the 2019 Toyota Granvia, and you might say the cabin is similar to what we have seen on the regular Hiace. However, that is only until you turn your head around and take a look all-around the cabin. Providing a lift to the premium-ness inside the van is the new faux wood trim. In case you’re wondering, the 2019 Toyota Granvia can accommodate 8 people. Then there are the captain seats which bring along enhanced comfort.

Taking care of entertainment needs is a touchscreen infotainment system that comes equipped with twelve speakers. You won’t need to carry around your smartphone charger every time you travel in you 2019 Granvia as the van has four USD charging points.

Stuff under the hood of the 2019 Toyota Granvia is same as the new Hiace. The much luxurious version of the van also gets its power from a 2.8-litre motor that makes 177 PS of maximum power at 3,400 rpm and a peak torque of 450 Nm. As its a Toyota, the Granvia is safe as a house thanks to the nine SRS airbags, ABS, cruise control, pre-collision safety, pedestrian detection, and other safety features that it has on board.
