All-New Mercedes A-Class Comes to MIAS 2016

MANILA: Already setting the auto geeks across the world on a fun trip, the 2016 Mercedes A-Class is finally arriving at the Philippine shores. All set to be unveiled by the manufacturers at the 12th Manila International Autoshow, the vehicle made its international debut in Frankfurt last year in July. The new model not only presented a major departure from the older design but also featured some never seen before technology that made the new A-Class, an instant hit.

Talking about the design changes in the new A-Class Hatch, like mentioned above it is a major departure from the old design and features a more arrow-shaped. The front grille is the same but bears a larger company emblem in the middle with updated headlamp designs. The AMG variant is also provided with LED integrated lamps that look more sporty with its body kit. The front bumper and radiator mesh have also been re-designed. The rear bumper is also brand new and includes the housing for the exhaust pipes with new tail-light clusters. The interiors, however, have undergone a large number of changes with new designs for the dashboard. The ambient green lighting coupled with the green black upholstery also helps in enhancing interior comfort and luxury. The A-Class was already a major step by Mercedes-Benz as it became their first mid-size hatchback model and featured a front-wheel drive unlike other models. After undergoing several design changes, the vehicle was provided with its current body design in 2012 along with a 4-wheel drive system featured on the AMG model.

The 2016 A-Class is manufacturer’s new attempt to further push the luxury and style achieved with the older model, while maintaining the vehicle’s dynamic performance. The drivetrain on the vehicle will be a mix of gasoline and diesel mills, which will all be mated to a 7-Speed Dual Clutch gearbox, with 3-preset drive settings. A cruise control was also added to the vehicle providing it with unparallelled levels of comfort and luxury.
