Ford Mustang is bestselling sports car in 2019

MANILA: Ford’s effort in putting out performance offerings has paid off big as the Mustang became the bestselling sports car in the world last year — its fifth consecutive year as the world’s most popular sports coupe. On top of that, it is also America’s bestselling sports car of the last 50 years.

Currently, there are 12 trims of this sixth-generation pony from the Mustang EcoBoost down to the GT500 with Handling and Carbon Fiber Track Pack options.

From Sweden to Shanghai, more and more driving enthusiasts are enjoying the feeling of freedom and the American open road in these new Mustangs. We are honored to serve our owners, enthusiasts and fans for 56 years and counting,” said Jim Farley, chief operating officer of Ford Motor Company.

In the most recent new vehicle registration data by recent new vehicle registration data IHS Markit, the Mustang sold 102,090 units in 2019. Sales in Germany increased by 33%, and went up in Poland by nearly 50%. In France, it nearly doubled.
