Fox provides the Ford Ranger with a 2-inch lift via a suspension upgrade

MANILA: It is not as if the Ford Ranger is short on off-road capabilities, however, a few extra ingredients don't spoil the dish, do they? For the fanatics who are keen on beefing up their Ranger with an even more capable suspension setup along with increased ride height, Fox shocks have introduced a suspension upgrade for the pickup. The upgrade comprises of FOX shocks, Ford Performance tuning, brand-new front coil overs, upper front mounts, and locking spring pre-load rings. As mentioned before, one of the best things about this suspension upgrade is the 2-inch lift that enables the Ford Ranger to take on tougher trails than before.

"Ford Performance Parts developed these kits to make the off-road experience even better for our Ranger (and F-150) customers. Truck customers are asking for options for increased capability and customization, and the new levelling suspension kits for Ranger (and F-150) deliver on that need", said Eric Cin, global director, Ford Vehicle Personalization and Accessories.

The kit was developed following extensive low-speed rock-crawling in Arizona and high-speed off-roading in Borrego, California. Alongside the increased ground the clearance, the Ford Ranger also benefits from an increase of 21% in the approach angle and a 10% increase in the breakover angle. "The elevated off-road geometry, paired with Ford Performance tuning, makes this a really unique offering. The secret sauce to this kit is in the Ford Performance tuning. This suspension and its tuning are designed to improve off-road handling and responsiveness, specifically for Ranger and F-150", added Cin.

In the USA, Ford's official dealerships are offering the suspension upgrade for USD 1,495, which roughly translates to Php 77,777. While the suspension is currently available for the US customers only, we won't surprised if the American automobile manufacturer starts offering the kit in the Philippines as well. Especially after considering the huge success that its pick up has tasted in the country.
