Geely rolls outs first major upgrades for EX5

MANILA: Geely Auto is currently rolling out its first major upgrades for the EX5 around the world within the third quarter of 2025.

In a statement, the Chinese automaker shared that the implementation of the updates took place since mid-to-late August and will continue until next month.

According to Geely Auto, the updates serve as their response to their customers’ feedback, guided by the company’s “user-centric philosophy.”

The improvement (which are eyed to “elevate the intelligent cabin experience”) revolved on the following:

Integration of Apple CarPlay	The system now also supports steering wheel voice control buttons and one-touch activation, enabling voice dialing, navigation, and music control
Refinement of the Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) low-speed alert sound	Updated to a more distinctive warning tone with reduced default volume, ensuring pedestrian safety while maintaining a quieter cabin environment
Enhancement of the model’s the multi-language system	Expanded Language Support, adding Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Polish to the in-vehicle system, while enhancing English and other multi-language capabilities for deeper functionality

“Through its evolvable intelligent mobility ecosystem, Geely continues to deliver high-value, high-quality intelligent mobility experiences for users worldwide,” the company claimed.

Hopefully, these updates would become available in the Philippine market the soonest.

 Geely EX5 in PH

Unveiled last February in time for the brand’s local relaunch, the Geely EX5 marked the brand’s entry in the Philippine new energy vehicle segment.

On paper, the vehicle measures:

It sports a six-window logo in a rectangular arrangement that sits in the middle of the grille-less front fascia along with the J-shaped daytime running lamps.

The Philippine-retailed Geely EX5 is outfitted with modern cockpit amenities that come in the form of:

• Two digital displays (10-inch instrument panel and 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system)
• Flat-laying front seats

Propelling the electrified crossover is an 11-in-1 electric motor that can deliver the following numbers:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	215
Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	320

The churn allows the front-wheel-drive vehicle to run 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 6.9 seconds from standstill and reach a top speed of 175 kph.

Moreover, the Geely EX5’s powertrain gets its juice from the 60.22 kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery that lets the vehicle cover up to 495 kilometers (based on New European Driving Cycle standards).

The mill also offers three drive modes namely:

• Eco
• Normal
• Sport

Last May, the nameplate earned a five-star rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program.

Lastly, the model’s price started at P1.79 million.
