Geely EX5 attains 5-star rating from ANCAP

MANILA: The Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) has given the Geely EX5 electric vehicle (EV) a five-star rating.

ANCAP further added that the EX5 provided “good” protection for the adult driver dummy in its side impact and full-width frontal tests. It was likewise adequate in the far side vehicle-to-vehicle crash test, and good in the far side vehicle-to-pole test.

In-vehicle protection for child occupants also returned good results for the frontal offset and side impact tests. The EX5 was likewise noted for its advanced driver-assist systems, which did a lot in propping up its results for the Vulnerable Road User Protection and Safety Assist categories.
To note, the Geely EX5 is due for a local launch. Previously, it was showcased at the brand’s local relaunch under the management of Geely Automotive International Corporation. Once introduced to the Philippines, it will have a starting price of P1.79 million.
Geely EX5: other notable specifications
Propelling the Geely EX5 is an 11-in-1 electric motor that can deliver up to 215 horsepower and 320 Newton-meters of torque. Thanks to its 60.22 kilowatt-hour lithium-iron phosphate battery, the model can cover up to 495 kilometers from a single full charge.

Inside, the upcoming EV crossover is equipped with leather upholstery, a 10-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system - among others.
For now, the brand has yet to share an exact launch date for the EX5, but it has extended its pre-order period until May 31, 2025. As a reminder, the Geely EX5 can be reserved with a P110,000 discount for those who have paid a P10,000 reservation fee.
