Kia PH says Sonet can help relieve traffic stress

MANILA: Kia Philippines takes pride in its all-new Sonet and claims that it can help alleviate stress that goes with driving.

In a statement, the Ayala-owned distributor said that those who are driving the newly-revealed crossover can “expect happier days on the road from now on.”

Per Kia Philippines, the Sonet’s striking design and best-in-class features make driving through traffic a breeze.

Below are the five features that make the Kia Sonet an ideal option for first-time car buyers and those looking for an upgrade.

DriveWise

The Kia Sonet is fitted with the DriveWise suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems that will help its users stay safe while on the road. The technology suite has lane keep assist, lane follow assist, and forward collision avoidance assist to help drivers maintain in a lane and within a safe distance from other road users to avoid potential road crashes.

The aforementioned advanced features are exclusive to the 1.5 SX AT variant.

Driver Attention Warning

The vehicle’s Driver Attention Warning system monitors one’s driving patterns and sends an alert should it detect any signs of fatigue. Such tool can ensure that the driver stays attentive and responsive — especially if one has already stayed long hours in front of the steering wheel — to reduce the risk of accidents.

Aside from that, the Kia Sonet’s lead vehicle departure alert gives out an audible sound and shows a notification at the digital cluster to let the driver know that the car in front has moved forward. The feature would be highly utilized during stop-and-go traffic situations.

Intuitive infotainment system, digital cluster

The dual 10.25-inch infotainment system and digital cluster found in the Kia Sonet’s top-spec option (or the eight-inch display in the LX and EX variants) are up for the times. The latter offers seamless integration with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In addition, the wireless charging dock juices up mobile devices without using cables. The technology — along with the overall contemporary design — keeps one connected while staying focused on the road.

Comfort, convenience amenities

The Kia Sonet’s plush leather seats (two-tone option for SX AT trim) boast comfortable seating for up to five passengers so that occupants would not feel cramped up while experiencing congested traffic.

Assuring stable and smooth drives are the SUV’s suspension (McPherson Strut at the front and Coupled Torsion Beam Axle for the rear) while the relaxing temperature is guaranteed by the automatic air conditioning system.

Efficient mill

The Kia Sonet's four-pot, 1.5-liter engine can deliver up to 113 horses and 144 Newton-meters of torque and is meant to be fuel efficient at the same time. It is mated to either the Intelligent Variable Transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.
