Mercedes reveals full specs and details of new A-Class sedan

MANILA: The latest model of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class was launched a few months back. However, following the launch of this hatchback, the luxury German automaker has revealed the entire variant list and specs of the sedan version.

At the time of launch, the company had only mentioned two engine options that would be available for the sedan. There would be an A180d version that would be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine making 116 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque. The other was the A200, which would be a turbocharged 1.3-litre petrol motor that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 163 horses along with 250 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines would be mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox.

Apart from these, the company has announced the addition of three new engine options in the lineup, which are the A220 4Matic, mid-spec A250, and the top-of-the-line A250 4Matic. The smaller A220 would be capable of making 190 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque while the bigger A250 and A250 4Matic would churn out 224 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. It can be had in either an FWD or an all-wheel-drive mode.

 

The new sedan can be had with either 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels, depending on the trim that you choose. The car will also be available in the AMG Line and Night Package for the exterior. Inside the cabin, there is a lot of options available. You can choose between two 7-inch screens, one 7-inch and one 10.25-inch and two 10.25-inch displays.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA was the entry-level sedan to the company’s huge lineup. However, this 2018 A-Class sedan sits below the CLA to be the new base model in the gallery. The production of this new sedan will commence in 2019 at the company’s production facility in Rastatt Plant, Germany.
