MG ZS range gets turbocharged 'T' trim

MANILA: The MG ZS T is now available, featuring a 1.3-liter turbocharged mill, a new look, and driver assist systems.

As the range-topper of the ZS line, the ZS "Trophy" is priced at P1,158,888, alongside the Alpha, Core, and Style variants. It is now available in MG Philippines dealerships nationwide starting this October, or can be reserved at BuyAnMG.com. 

Aside from the trim level, the “T” in ZS T also represents the car's turbocharged three-cylinder 1.3-liter engine, which produces 160hp and 230Nm of torque. This is paired to a new six-speed automatic transmission with manual sport mode. 

As part of the model refresh, the ZS T wears a new Obsidian Matrix grille, full-LED projector headlights, 17-inch two-tone “Tomahawk” wheels wrapped in wide, low-profile tires, and red brake calipers. Gloss black exterior door panel accents and a widened front air dam are also fitted to keep the looks fresh. 

For safety, front, side, and curtain airbags are standard equipment for the ZS T, and so are the following electronic safeguards: Rear Cross-Traffic Assist, Lane Change Assist, Cornering Lamps (built into the fog lamps,) Hill Hold Control, Cornering Brake Control, Traction Control, and Vehicle Dynamic Control.

The ZS T is also outfitted with a Blind Spot Information System, that when  paired with the car’s intelligent 360-degree vehicle view, provides a bird’s eye view of the car during slow-moving traffic or when slowly moving into tight parking spaces.

Inside, the ZS T wears red stitching on the seats and trim, and red embroidered MG monograms on the driver and front passenger headrests. 

Rounding out the interior equipment are a six-speaker system and a 10.1-inch non-reflective touchscreen HD infotainment system, which aims from glare-free display of Apple Carplay or Android Auto mirroring. The driver fronts what MG calls a “Goggles” virtual instrument cluster.

Behind the rear view mirror is a USB port for neater dashcam installations, while at the rear, ZS T passengers are treated to air conditioner vents and multiple storage compartments. 

The ZS T comes with a five-year or 100,000 kilometer warranty (whichever comes first), and one-year free periodic maintenance service.

MG owners can also download the My MG mobile app, which allows them to easily schedule vehicle servicing appointments from a smartphone. The ZS is among MG Philippines' best-selling models.
