Mitsubishi Motors PH adds GX 2WD AT trim to Triton stable

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has expanded its Triton lineup with addition of the GX 2WD AT variant.

The newest trim, the Japanese automaker’s local distributor shared, is aimed at “bringing comfort and true pick-up performance to more Filipinos at a more attainable price.”

Prior to the inclusion of the newly-added variation (which is priced P1.43 million), the Mitsubishi Triton’s most affordable option with an automatic gearbox in the country is the GLX 2.4D 2WD AT. This version wears a P1.735-million price tag.

MMPC noted that the Mitsubishi GX 2WD AT option delivers the toughness expected from a Triton while offering everyday driving comfort that fits modern lifestyles.

Here are some bits of information about the newest member of the Mitsubishi Triton stable in the Philippine market, which carries the campaign tagline, “All Grit, No Clutch.”

Propelling the vehicle is still the same 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine that can deliver nearly 178 horses and 430 Newton-meters of pulling power.  This is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Inside the cabin, the Mitsubishi Triton GX 2WD AT is fitted with an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with a reverse camera — features that are normally included on higher-priced competitors in the segment.

Since this is a more affordable version, most of the portions inside are covered with hard plastic and fabric. In addition, the air-conditioning system control panel are still made up of knobs for this specific offering.
