Nissan Leaf lights up giant Christmas tree of Ortigas Center
MANILA: Nissan Philippines kicked off the lighting ceremony of the giant Christmas tree in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, using its fully electric vehicle, the Nissan Leaf.
The Leaf is powered by the vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology which uses a two-way charging feature. The energy that is stored in the car battery can also be used to supply power to home and office, even directly back to the power grid.
Nissan Philippines was represented by General Manager for Marketing Edgardo Obias, General Manager for Sales Rolando Navarro, and Assistant General Manager for Communications Daximilan Avenido. The event was also graced by Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo, Barangay San Antonio Captain Raymond Lising, and Ortigas Center Association General Manager Adeli Jandayan.
In a statement released by Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima said, "Nissan and Pasig City share a common vision of a smarter, safer, and more sustainable future, and the adoption of electric vehicles in the country is an important part of this future. We hope that the Nissan Leaf, lighting this Christmas tree in one of the country’s foremost business centers, offers a shining symbol of hope and a bright future for Filipinos."
Nissan will also showcase the V2X technology of the Nissan Leaf in the Christmas lighting ceremonies in Glorietta on December 11 to 13, and Alabang Town Center on December 18 to 20.
