The 2019 Honda Accord will make its ASEAN debut at the Thailand International Motor Expo Show.

MANILA: The 2019 Honda Accord is all set to make its ASEAN debut this November after its world premiere in the USA last year. Thailand International Motor Expo, organized at the Impact Exhibition Center, is the chosen event to host the much-anticipated ASEAN premiere of this D-segment sedan. It is expected to hit the dealership in Thailand in the first half of 2019.

The introduction of the 10th-generation 2019 Honda Accord in Thailand has been confirmed via a teaser image of the car. The sporty exterior of the vehicle is justified with the incorporation of new aggressive design elements, like a redesigned rear quarter window, a coupe-fashioned roofline, and a robust wing face. The sculpted front fascia is highlighted by the LED front headlights. At the rear side, Honda Accord adopts the C-shaped the taillight approach, enticing the sloping deck lid further.

Honda Thailand stated that this upcoming 10th-gen Accord will arrive equipped with brand new Hybrid Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) engine. This technology constitutes a 2.0-litre turbocharged powertrain mated to a twin-motor hybrid system. The model currently available in the US features a standard 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the sport/touring trims receive the same setup with a 2.0-litre motor. The base Hybrid, EX-L Hybrid, EX Hybrid, and Touring Hybrid models feature the hybrid powertrain.

The Honda spares no effort to offer maximum possible vehicle occupant safety and is considering 'Honda Sensing' safety suite for this future ASEAN debutant. This Honda safety bouquet encompasses a wide spectrum of sophisticated safety additions, such as collision mitigation braking, cross traffic warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, road departure mitigation, lane keep assist, traffic signal recognition, lane watch, and auto high-beam headlamps. Market rules, regulations, and needs will influence which among these are to get installed in the car.
