“As a new track for our Vios OMRs (one-make racecars) and Tamaraw OMRs, BRC will be an exciting challenge for our drivers. Our aim at Toyota Gazoo Racing has always been to provide opportunities for racers to push the limits for better and to bring racing closer to different car communities. Exciting, low-carbon races
Thrilling wheel-to-wheel action can be expected from the Toyota Vios and Tamaraw OMRs.
BRC is known to be a technical racetrack, so the drivers’ skills will be put to the test as they muster their machines through the circuit’s challenging turns and notable straightaway.
Super Sporting, Sporting, and Legacy classes will go head-to-head driving Toyota’s sedans, while participants in the Tamaraw Class will duke it out using souped-up versions of the marque’s light commercial vehicle.
The Toyota Vios will continue to use E20 fuel (a 20 percent bio-ethanol blend), while the Tamaraw OMRs will continue to be powered by B5 fuel — a five percent coco-biodiesel blend.
Fans following the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup will remember that the initiative to use low-carbon biofuels began in the previous race weekend and aims to support national energy security and the development of biofuel supply chains through multi-stakeholder collaboration including the agricultural sector.
Learn more about TMP’s biofuel efforts in the short clip below:
“We have received positive feedback from the racers on how biodiesel and bioethanol blend fuels perform on extreme conditions, so we are further studying the feasibility of continuing the use of these low-carbon fuels for our succeeding motorsports events. While we continue to face energy security issues in the country, we hope this initiative will result in improved knowledge on the positive benefits of higher biofuel blends for wider use of motorists,” TMP First Vice President for Corporate Affairs Josephine Villanueva noted.
