Toyota Motor PH recalls select Urban Cruiser over faulty display system
17 units affected, campaign covers free software reprogramming
MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) issued a recall order for the Urban Cruiser over defective integrated display system (IDS).
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Why is Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) recalling the Urban Cruiser?
TMP issued a recall for 17 Toyota Urban Cruiser units produced between November 27, 2025, and April 11, 2026, due to a software flaw in the Integrated Display System (IDS).How will it be fixed?
To fix the issue, TMP will perform a free software reprogramming on affected units at any authorized Toyota dealer.According to the country’s leading automotive distributor, the defect is in the affected portion’s software, where the average power consumption (average energy efficiency) calculation logic is incorrect.
TMP mentioned that the average energy efficiency displayed on the meter may be lower than the actual average energy efficiency.
As of its latest count, the latest service covers 17 Toyota Urban Cruiser units produced in November 27, 2025-April 11, 2026.
To address the issue, TMP will conduct free software reprogramming on the IDS of the involved units.
“Involved customers with vehicles included in the service campaign are highly encouraged to immediately set an appointment with any authorized Toyota dealer to perform the necessary repair and prevent problems from occurring. Customers may also schedule the repair during the Periodic Maintenance appointment if the vehicle is already due or approaching its regular maintenance schedule,” TMP noted.
