TRD-packed facelifted Toyota Hilux now available in Japan

MANILA: Toyota Hilux, the popular model among LCVs, comes in its revised version with full TRD (Toyota Racing Development) accessory package to add more stars to its 50th birthday celebration. Limited-run Z Black Rally Edition is already on offer and the buyers in Japan have the opportunity to ask for the TRD pack on top of it. Presently, the TRD package is available only in Japan.

Toyota Racing Development or TRD is the exclusive in-house competition division for the Japanese auto brand. Toyota Hilux TRD now receives some high-performance parts and the accessory package, giving it a visually enhanced look.

The TRD treated Toyota Hilux portray red additions around the foglight zone along with a new glossy bezel circulating the light. The vehicle comes treated with gloss-black and does not feature any bit of chrome. Both Black Rally Edition and TRD Hilux are equipped with a Land Cruiser inspired grille. The vehicle has ditched the regular body-moulded step boards and the TRD version is available with a metal side-step.

The package further includes a TRD skid plate in bright-red color that gives extra protection to the significant underbelly components while off-roading. TRD decals are there on the doors and flank the bed as well. Large-sized mudflaps boldly display the TRD name. Twin-tipped custom exhausts add more value to the performance-oriented visuals of the automobile.

On the inside, the TRD package offers a 150-watt stereo amplifier and a speaker setup from JBL. The top variants of the Philippines-spec Toyota Hilux also feature AUX input with six speakers, tuner, MP3, etc., besides other significant techs.

In the Philippines, the Toyota Hilux price range is from Php 814,000 to Php 1,777,000. As of now, the TRD-treated Toyota Hilux is available in its home country only. If it makes its way to the Filipino shores, it is more likely to come as a facelifted version of the Toyota Hilux Conquest 2.8 G DSL.
