Will the 6th-gen Toyota RAV4 PH launch coincide with Australia’s?

MANILA: Toyota is set to launch the new RAV4 in the Australian market by the end of March, which might coincide with the model’s formal launch in the Philippines.

In a statement, the Japanese automaker’s arm in the Land Down Under shared that the arrival of the units marked the beginning of an important new chapter for one of the brand’s sought‑after nameplates.

Per Toyota, the RAV4 was last year’s best-selling sport utility vehicle there — adding that more than 588,000 examples were delivered to customers in Australia since its inception in 1994. Such numbers contributed to the over 15 million global sales to date.

“Our February sales aligned with our plans for 2026. We anticipated a steady start to the year as we transitioned to the all-new RAV4, and it’s positive to see most of our current generation RAV4 vehicles have been sold and customer demand remains strong across the Toyota range,” Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations John Pappas said.

Toyota announced that the Australia-bound RAV4 will have 11 variants that are either powered by either a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain. They are:

PH to get 6th-gen Toyota RAV4 within the month too

To recall, the leading local automotive distributor in the Philippines announced that it will formally introduce the sixth-generation Toyota RAV4 within the month.

Based on the documents from the Department of Energy, the model will be offered in two variants, which are expected to be both HEV trims. They are:

• RAV4 LTD
• RAV4 ADV

These two options similarly run in all-wheel-drive format using their 2.5-liter gasoline engines with electric motors mated to continuously variable transmissions. 

The drivetrain’s internal combustion engine component can make up to 183 horsepower (hp), while the electric motor can generate an additional 134 hp.  The model also has a battery capacity of 1.09 kilowatt-hours (kWh). 

The next-generation Toyota RAV4 ADV tapes in at:

Notably, this option is 20 mm longer, 25 mm wider, and 50mm taller than the LTD.

The said model made its debut in Japan last December 2025.
