Zeekr officially launched in PH

MANILA: Autohub Group of Companies has officially launched Zeekr car for the Philippine market which served as the debut of its initial two models, the 001 and X. 

Zeekr's formal entrance into the Philippines is the result of a strategic partnership between the Autohub Group and the Geely Holding Group, the latter of which owns Zeekr as its luxury sub-brand.

The aforementioned agreement was initially announced in March 2024. Under the alliance, Autohub holds exclusive distributorship rights for Zeekr and is scheduled to establish a new dealership at Bonifacio Global City.  

So, what are the new brand’s all-new vehicles offering to prospective car buyers? Let’s find out. 

Zeekr 001

First in the marque’s initial electric vehicle (EV) lineup is the 001, which slots into the mid-size luxury sedan segment.

At a glance, the vehicle received a slick-looking shooting brake design with a sporty stance made more appealing by a muscular hood, a sculpted side profile, and a dramatically sloped rear end. According to Zeeker, all of the aforementioned contribute to a relatively low drag coefficient of 0.23. 

For its exterior features, it was kitted out with intelligent matrix LED projection headlamps with adaptive beams, an LED taillight bar, frameless soft-close doors, and up to 22-inch-sized wheels, among others.

Inside, the Zeekr 001 received a neatly arranged cabin mostly clad in soft-touch surfaces. It also features a triple-zone automatic climate control system, ambient lighting, fully digital infotainment and driver instrument displays, a flat-bottom leather steering wheel, and an air quality detection system, among many others. 

To propel the 001, it is equipped with an electric motor capable of producing up to 544 horsepower (hp) and 686 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. The said motor is powered by a 66-kilowatt-hour battery, which also supplies the vehicle with a 620-kilometer range, as indicated by the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). 

According to Zeekr, the 001’s powertrain can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 30 minutes. The EV also has a claimed zero-to-100 kilometer-per-hour time of 3.8 seconds. 

Zeekr X

The second model in Zeekr’s roster for the Philippines is the X subcompact crossover EV. 

For its exterior, the Zeekr X received a high-riding posture. It was also made more appealing via its sharply designed front fascia, an angular side section, and a tidy-looking rear end. 

Some of the more eye-catching details on the said EV include its intricate LED daytime running lamps, which are positioned almost on the same plane as the bonnet. It also gets glossy bits as cladding for its wheel arches, a pair of elongated but thin LED taillights, frameless power-folding side mirrors, and frameless soft-closing doors.

The inside of the X, meanwhile, was provided with a minimalist cabin equipped with microfiber headliners, digital infotainment and driver information displays, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and a 13-piece Yamaha sound system, among others. 

At the most, the Zeekr X’s motor can generate up to 422 hp and 686 Nm of torque. It also has a WLTP-indicated range of 445 km.
