Zigwheels PH weekly wrap: Nov. 3-7, 2025

While the first week of November 2025 only saw a few model launches for the Philippine market, the same time period saw a couple of brands announce their upcoming rides that are due to arrive before the year closes. 

The first week of the 11th month of 2025 likewise saw the tail end of the Japan Mobility Show (JMS) 2025, and as such, reports on car showcases and launches from the said event continued to roll in en masse. 

In the same time frame, the local and global automotive industry also saw plenty of developments, including a huge cost-cutting move from a Japanese marque.

So, without further ado, here’s a summary of the news from November 3-7, 2025. 

Upcoming local cars

Toyota bZ4X

On November 7, 2025, Toyota Motor Philippines announced the upcoming launch of the bZ4X, which is set to become the company’s first-ever all-electric offering. At the same date, Toyota’s local arm also started the model’s reservation period.

Ford Ranger Raptor, Wildtrak special editions

Ford Philippines is set to reveal special edition versions of the Ranger Raptor and Ranger Wildtrak at the 2025 Autofocus Pre-Christmas Test Drive Festival.

Honda Prelude, 0 Series

After being showcased at the JMS 2025, Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated (HCPI) has confirmed that it will be bringing in the Prelude coupe, and thereafter, the 0 Series models. No further details, like exact launch dates, were provided by the company.

Global car previews

New Toyota Hilux

In the first week of November 2025, Toyota also announced that it will unveil the updated Hilux pickup truck on November 10, 2025. For now, it wasn’t confirmed if this new Hilux is due for the Philippines, but hopefully it will arrive next year.

BMW 318i Professional

The updated BMW 318i was launched in the Philippine market as the Professional variant. It retails for P3.49 million and is touted to offer a balance of style, performance, and creature comforts.

More interesting cars from JMS 2025

While JMS 2025 started in the last week of October 2025, the said event ended in the first week of November. In that period, Zigwheels Philippines rolled out additional news about car reveals at this year’s JMS. 

First off is the all-electric BYD Racco - the Chinese company’s upcoming entry into the Japanese Domestic Market’s (JDM) kei car segment. 

Nissan, meanwhile, showcased the JDM-only next-generation Elgrand multi-purpose vehicle, as well as the refreshed Ariya. 

Mazda also pulled the covers off the Vision X-Coupe and the Vision X-Compact concept cars. The two are envisioned as a preview of what’s to come for the Japanese carmaker. 

Yamaha, on the other hand, has showcased the Proto battery electric vehicle (BEV) at JMS 2025. 

Mercedes-Benz’s performance division, AMG, also showcased the GT XX concept car at JMS 2025. 

Global industry updates

One of the biggest automotive industry developments in the first week of November 2025 is Nissan’s announcement of the sale of its global headquarters in Yokohama, Japan. The aforementioned is a part of its Re:Nissan restructuring plan. 

The Zeekr X and the Suzuki Fronx received five-star safety ratings from the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). Notably, the Zeekr X achieved a perfect score for its adult occupant protection tests. 

Toyota is likewise set to unveil the “bZ Time Attack” all-wheel-drive concept at the upcoming Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show 2025.

Through an interview with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation’s chief executive officer, Karl Deppen, it was confirmed that despite the company’s merger with Hino Motors Limited through Archion Corporation, both entities will keep their respective brand identities. 

Suzuki also shared its plans to leverage artificial intelligence via its “DX Strategy.”

Local industry updates

In the Philippines, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) and local government units participated in the International Coastal Cleanup by collecting trash along the shorelines of Laguna Lake.

Mercedes-Benz Philippines, under Inchcape Philippines, has also kicked off its roadshow, which will head to SM Megamall, UP Town Center, and Rockwell Power Plant Mall this month.

The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Incorporated (MDPPA) shared that it is targeting to sell around 1.793 million motorcycles by the end of 2025. 

Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) also stepped in to dress up the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Monumento Station for its latest road safety campaign.

Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated (HMPH) also rolled out its first-ever referral program to drum up sales for the updated Stargazer and Stargazer X. The company also turned over donations to the Good Neighbors Philippines charitable group as a part of its “Service with a Heart” campaign. 

In the realm of motorcycle racing, Honda Project M Estremo Racing Team rider Ephraim Onahon, aboard his Winner X, has emerged as the Overall Champion Rider in both the Open and Limited Underbone Categories of the 2025 season of the Regional Underbone Grand Prix (RUGP). 

At the previously concluded 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, ACMobility showcased its electric vehicle charging solutions.

Morris Garages (MG) Motor Philippines rolled out a special parts discount in Cebu for those affected by Typhoon Tino. 

The Bureau of Customs likewise auctioned off seven luxury vehicles that were seized from the Dizcaya family last month.
