• About Chery Philippines

  Chery Auto Philippines, now under the banner of United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), is a brand that was founded on March 18, 1997. The marque began as a state-owned enterprise based in Wuhu, Anhui Province, China. It became the 10th-largest China-based automaker by 2012 metrics of about 590,000 units and has been China's largest passenger car exporter since 2003.

  Although founded in 1997, it only started rolling off its first car in 1999 with the Fengyun which sold almost 30,000 units. In 2003, it began producing the QQ city car, Cowin subcompact sedan, and the Easter mid-size sedan in 2003. 

  It is then followed by the A5 compact sedan and the Tiggo crossover two years after. The brand has been aggressively exporting its products to more than 30 countries in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia including the Philippines under UAAGI.

  The brand's revival was brought about by the same company that brought the Foton brand to the Philippines, United Asia Automotive Group, Incorporated, who acquired the rights to market and sell Chery vehicles in the year 2019. The distributorship was awarded for the Tiggo lineup of Chery crossovers which includes the Tiggo 2, Tiggo 5X, Tiggo 7, and Tiggo 8.

  In the Philippines, Chery-branded auto (automobiles) have seen roaming the local roads starting mid-2000s via importations from neighbouring countries, and an ownership feat by Iseway Motors. 

  A few years after, the brand is now revitalized and under the management of UAAGI with a lineup of Tiggo crossovers, which are all backed by a 3-year free maintenance plan, a 5-year 150,000 km warranty, and a 10-year 1,000,000 km engine warranty, one of the longest periods in the market.
