Cabin check: What’s inside the Suzuki Jimny?

The Suzuki Jimny is arguably one of the most recognizable cars in the brand’s lineup and proves that sometimes, the best things can come in small packages.

On that note, it does exude style and exterior appointments one will see in a typical off-roader. But what exactly can find inside the cabin of this tiny go-anywhere vehicle? Join us as we take a look at what’s inside the Suzuki Jimny.

Rugged, retro appointments

One of the most striking design features one will notice when stepping inside the Suzuki Jimny is the abundance of rugged and retro-looking appointments.

Looking the part, the Suzuki Jimny dons a tough-looking instrument panel with a mix of analog and digital displays that somehow gives off “Humvee vibes” thanks to their chunky bezels as well as their orange-hued lighting.

And if that’s not enough to make you feel like you’re in a tactical military-spec craft, the Suzuki Jimny also has plenty of hard plastics which can be found on its dashboard and its door panels.

Speaking of its dashboard, the Suzuki Jimny gets a nine-inch infotainment system that looks like it can take a beating. The said infotainment display — surrounded by thick and beefy bezels — is equipped with off-road-oriented features, which we’ll get to in a few.

Off-road-ready features

There’s no doubt that the Suzuki Jimny looks like it’s off-road ready, however, the Japanese carmaker packed the compact sport utility vehicle with various equipment that really make it a viable vehicle to brave the road less taken.

Through the aforementioned infotainment system, drivers can access features like a clinometer (a tool used for measuring elevation angles), a barometer (a tool used for measuring atmospheric pressure), and an altimeter (used for measuring altitude).

All the abovementioned tools are built-in on the Suzuki Jimny and give its occupants the right tools to conquer almost any terrain.

In addition, the Suzuki Jimny is also fitted with an off-line navigation system, which is always helpful whether you’re lost in the mountains or in the urban jungle.

Durable seats

While the sets fitted on the Suzuki Jimny may not be the most comfortable in the segment, it does look durable. The front seats are finished in fabric, which will be easy to clean should one get dirt or mud on it.

They have enough bolstering to ensure some level of comfort when driving on unpaved roads or even overlanding mountain paths.

Rear passengers might face a little challenge as there is very little room in the second row of the Suzuki Jimny.

We’re still not sure when we’ll get the five-door variant, so until then, second-row occupants will have to make do with the meager room the Suzuki Jimny has to offer.

Variants and pricing

The Suzuki Jimny is offered in two variants, GL and GLX, and is priced at P1.258 million and P1.320 million, respectively. Further, the top GLX model can be had in a two-tone finish, which will set buyers back an additional P10,000.
