Earlier this year, Suzuki Philippines Incorporated launched the hybrid version of the Ertiga, which has been popular among Filipino families due to its spacious cabin that can accommodate up to seven people.

The introduction of the said model ushers in the new era of electrification for the Japanese carmaker. The Ertiga Hybrid is also a good stepping stone for those who want to gradually switch to green mobility.

Let’s check out the four variants of the hybrid multipurpose vehicle.

GA MT

The GA MT is the base variant of the Ertiga Hybrid. It features an aerodynamic roofline and long shoulder line that gives it a flowing impression from the side. Its exterior comes with halogen projector and multi-reflector headlamps, LED rear combination lamps, 15-inch steel wheels with full wheel cap, black outside door mirrors with manual adjustment, body-colored door handles, and key-operated tailgate.

Inside, the GA MT is designed with fabric seats, a three-spoke urethane steering wheel, a black horizontal pattern on the instrument panel, a front manual air-conditioning system with heater and pollen filter, a 1 DIN audio system with USB connectivity and two front speakers, cup and bottle holders, black shift knob, and a 12-volt (V) accessory socket on the center console

Powering the Ertiga GA MT is a 1.5-liter engine with an integrated starter generator, which takes the role of the traditional alternator that has the functionality of charging the battery and electric motor, while assisting with standing starts and acceleration. It also comes with an engine auto stop start system that automatically shuts down the engine when the vehicle is at a stop to save fuel, minimize exhaust emissions, and reduce engine noise for a comfortable ride.

The powertrain is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

In terms of safety features, the base variant is equipped with dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, and electronic stability control.

The Ertiga Hybrid GA MT is priced at P954,000.

GL MT

What makes the GL MT different from the base variant is the chrome front grille, key-operated tailgate, front and rear mud flaps, front fog lamps, alloy wheels, and body-colored door mirrors with electric adjustment.

The cabin also features a different kind of fabric. The instrument panel is designed with a wooden pattern, while the air-conditioning system also comes with rear manual controls. It also has remote-control door locks with hazard lamp answerback function.

Entertainment and connectivity is provided by the eight-inch touchscreen display that can be connected to an Android or Apple device. The GL MT also comes with front and rear speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, an offline GPS navigation system, and 12-V accessory socket on the second row.

The GL MT is powered by the same engine and transmission as the base variant.

It also comes with additional safety features such as hill hold control and rear parking sensors.

The Ertiga Hybrid GL MT retails for P1.093 million.

GL AT

The GL AT has almost the same features as the GL MT.

Among the few things that make the AT variant different are its four-speed automatic transmission, brown shift knob with satin chrome accents, foot rest on the driver’s side, and the automatic transmission shiftlock.

The Ertiga Hybrid GL AT costs P1.128 million.

GLX AT

The top-of-the-line GLX AT trim is packed with more advanced features, such as automatic headlamps with follow-me-home function, LED rear combination lamps with light guides, and body-colored door mirrors with electric adjustment and folding and built-in turn signal lamps. It is also designed with chrome door handles and polished alloy wheels.

Inside, the Ertiga Hybrid GLX AT is equipped with a leather-covered three-spoke steering wheel with audio controls and Bluetooth hands-free control. The driver’s seat has a height adjuster and a seatback pocket. There are also center armrests for the front seats.

Driving convenience is provided by the keyless push start system, front automatic air-conditioning system, and 10-inch infotainment touchscreen.

Power comes from the same 1.5-liter engine as the other variants. Just like the GL AT, the top trim of the Ertiga Hybrid also gets a four-speed automatic transmission.

Another GLX AT-exclusive feature is the reverse parking camera.

The Ertiga Hybrid GLX AT is priced at P1.178 million.
