2019 Hyundai Tucson set to get N Line treatment

MANILA: Geneva Motor Show is not more than a fortnight away, and the auto manufacturers from around the world have started building the excitement up for the event. While some will be displaying 'made for the future' electric vehicles,

others will be boasting their performance wing’s skills with the modified variants of existing vehicles. And one such vehicle is the Hyundai Tucson. Disclosed in a teaser image released by the South Korean manufacturer itself, the crossover’s modified version quite loudly states that it indeed will be an N Line model.

The “N Line” badge on the front quarter panel clears all the doubts and even gives an idea of an entirely new lineup of N Line crossovers. In case you are still guessing, N Line is a performance-oriented wing or sub-brand of Hyundai just like Nissan’s NISMO and BMW’s M series. Hyundai had unveiled the Elantra GT Line last month,

and a few of the upgrades on the Tucson are reminiscent of the ones we saw on the sedan. For starters, there is a similar leather gear selector with contrast stitching and metal accents. Other updates like bigger alloy wheels clothed with stickier tyres, blacked-out side mirror caps, and unique N Line Cascading front grille should also make their way to the Tucson N Line.

Barring the two images and that this Tucson will get a 48-volt mild hybrid powertrain, no other information about the crossover has been made available by Hyundai. Although the automaker did mention that more crossovers will be making their way out of the factories with these performance upgrades soon.

While these N Line or performance-oriented versions of Hyundai crossovers may continue to house their stock powertrains, we expect the suspension and handling to be tweaked a little. With the Geneva Motor Show 2019 around the corner, it won’t be too long before we actually get to see what Hyundai has up its sleeves.
