2019 Nissan Almera: Variants explained
Nissan recently launched an updated Almera for the year 2019. Taking into account the popularity of this sedan and the fact that it continues to have a growing sales graph, Nissan added a few elements to make the 2019 Almera first impression a bit more pleasing for the masses.
This is a minor update and doesn’t affect the rest of the specs of the car. The 2019 Nissan Almera is available in 5 variants - 1.2 MT, 1.5 E MT, 1.5 E AT, 1.5 V AT, and 1.5 VL AT. In this story, we will get to know each of these variants.
1.2 MT
This is the base model of the 2019 Almera. It is the only variant that is available with the less powerful 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine which produces 79 PS of max power and 106 Nm of peak torque. The transmission here is a 5-speed manual gearbox.
In terms of its dimensions, all the variants of the Almera are the same - 4,426 mm long, 1,695 mm wide, and 1,505 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. Also, the boot capacity remains constant at 490 litres.
The design of all the Almera models is more or less the same. The front carries a pair of large headlamps along with a simple matte grille which holds the brand logo. The side profile of the car is kept a bit busy by the stylish wheels and the wrap-around tail lights. Moving to the rear, the tail lights continue to add to the look of the car. Overall, the Nissan Almera is a good looking sedan.
The headlamps get a conventional halogen bulb with no LEDs on offer. This is clearly a cost-saving measure. Also, the 14-inch steel wheels on the 1.2 MT model come with full wheel cap.
The interior in the 1.2 MT model features fabric seats. Both the front seats can be reclined and slid forward or backwards manually. Nissan has also provided headrests for all the passengers. In terms of safety, there is dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, childproof lock, child anchor, speed sensing door locks, and something called a panic button.
1.5 E MT
The 2019 Nissan Almera price for this variant is Php 735,000. It is powered by the slightly powerful 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine which produces 99 PS of peak power and 134 Nm of torque and is mated to the same 5-speed manual gearbox. Unlike the 1.2 MT model, this one gets 15-inch alloy wheels with 185/65 R15 tyres.
The outside rear view mirrors are power adjustable, and there are also intermittent windshield wipers. The comfort and convenience features on the inside remain the same. There is the addition of a 2-DIN sound system that supports AM, FM, CD, MP3, and AUX.
1.5 E AT
Priced at Php 824,000, the 1.5 E AT model comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission. This is the only difference between this and its MT variant.
1.5 V AT
This is among the top-end models of the Nissan Almera. It features the same 1.5-litre engine and transmission but gets a few added elements to justify the price hike and also to make it stand out from the rest of the variants.
Nissan has given it a boot lid mounted rear spoiler with LED brake lamp. The front has been revised a bit by using chrome grille and front fog lamps. The outside rearview mirrors are not only electrically adjustable but also electrically foldable.
The instrument cluster contains dual analog fine vision meter and a drive computer display. There is also a rear centre armrest along with cup holders to add to the comfort of the rear passengers. The rear headrests are now adjustable. The seats are of leather but continue to be in greige. Nissan Almera specs sheet further includes a few silver interior trims here and there for a bit of premium-ness. We also get full auto climate control AC with rear vents. There is also a push start/stop button
1.5 VL AT
This is the range-topping variant of the Almera priced at Php 933,000. It is more or less the same when compared to the 1.5 V AT model. It is this where you find the new touchscreen infotainment system that Nissan has released in the 2019 Almera.
These were the 5 variants of the updated Nissan Almera. Along with the old Brilliant Silver, Titanium Grey, Alpine White, and Bluish Black options, there are 3 new shades - Sapphire Blue Metallic, Iridium Metallic Brown, and Lunar Metallic Gray - in which you can buy the 2019 Almera.
