2019 Suzuki Jimny is on its way to the Philippines

MANILA: Mark the date, March 8, 2019. The day will bring with it the arrival of the 2019 Suzuki Jimny in the Philippines. All the Filipinos have been waiting for the mini 4x4 for quite some time now.

And after the preview of the car last year, the eagerness just crept up. Putting an end to the speculations, Suzuki Philippines (SPH) has officially announced that the 4x4 will be launched in the country next month.

We expect the 4x4 to feature the same powertrain which was housing inside the car when it was previewed during the Philippine International Motor Show. Although there is no information available on the specs of the upcoming Jimny yet.

The engine previewed was a 1.5-litre K15B inline-four mill coupled with either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission unit. All-Grip Pro four-wheel drive will also be offered on the 4x4.

Talking about the looks of the 2019 Suzuki Jimny, the car continues to feature its retro-like boxy design along with round headlamps. However, the design is not too old-school as it packs some youthful vibes as well which should allure the young generation buyers. On the inside, the old-school treatment gets a touch of the modern world with elements like a centre mounted touchscreen infotainment system.

According to Shuzo Hoshikura, who is the General Manager Suzuki Philippines, the 2019 Suzuki Jimny will be priced at around Php 1.1 million for the top of the line variant. That means we will have the lower-end models selling for less than a million Pesos. Are you as excited as we are for the 2019 Suzuki Jimny?
