2020 Mitsubishi ASX gets updated looks
MANILA: The Mitsubishi ASX has been doing great in automobile markets across the world since its inception in the year 2009. However, known as RVR and Outlander Sport in some markets, the car still carries the same platform and powertrain from its early days. But something is finally going to change. Come 2019 Geneva Motor Show, and we will witness the ASX in a new look altogether.
Mitsubishi has already dipped the Strada (Triton), Eclipse Cross, and the Montero Sport in the Dynamic Shield waters and has given them a visual overhaul. Next in the line is the ASX. Well, we’d say the ASX has already become a part of the Dynamic Shield treated vehicles now as the recently released images of the 2020 Mitsubishi ASX have put an end to all the doubts and speculations.
The new and updated front end of the ASX features squared-off bumper, LED lighting, and a deeper than before hood. While the headlamps retain their original spot, the turn indicators and the fog lamps, however, have been pushed to the corners of the bumper. All these changes are courtesy of the “Impact and Impulse” concept.
The 2020 ASX is said to get a stronger body and advance safety kit with features like the Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) braking system. The machine under the hood will be the same as before. The SUV will continue receiving its power from a 2.0-litre MIVEC four-pot motor.
The power delivery to the wheels will be done by either a 6-speed CVT or a 5-speed manual transmission unit. Another good news is that the 2020 ASX will feature a larger than before infotainment screen and a new smartphone interface. There will also be an application for receiving information like car statistics along with maintenance and inspection intervals.
