Auto Expo 2020: MG Marvel X Electric Crossover with AI-Enabled System showcased

MANILA: The Auto Expo 2020 is underway in India and the automobile industry is set to embrace some eye-catchy models and concepts. One of the frontrunners here is MG as it showcases the Marvel X luxury crossover in an electric avatar.

The MG Marvel X is not just another electric crossover on the block and the automaker has added some serious advance features. It has its circuit enabled with AI (artificial intelligence) that has an auto-parking feature. This system works by recording the previous parking route.

At the heart, the MG Marvel X is powered by an electric motor that can churn out a peak power of 186 PS and peak torque of 410 Nm in the rear-wheel-drive variant. However, the AWD model makes 300 PS of power and a whopping 665 Nm of peak torque. Despite being a completely electric vehicle, it is not made to compromise on the performance. The RWD model can hit the 0-100 kmph acceleration in 7.9 seconds while the AWD can do the same in just 4.8 seconds.

The motor draws its power from a 52.5kWh battery pack. Since this MG electric crossover is based on the Chinese Roewe Marvel X, it is claimed to have a maximum driving range of 500 km at a cruising speed of 60 kmph.

The MG Marvel X electric crossover is underpinned by a full aluminium platform, which had been developed jointly with German automakers. Plus, thanks to the inclusion of AI, the EV boasts on a plethora of assistance features, like adaptive cruise control, short-period autonomous driving, parking sensors, six cameras, etc.

Despite being showcased at the Auto Expo 2020, there is no news about the introduction of the MG Marvel X in the Philippines market. The company presently sells MG 5, MG 6, MG RX5 and MG ZS here in the domestic market.
