Ford unveils seven modified Ranger at 2018 SEMA

MANILA: The excitement regarding the 2018 SEMA is already very high, especially with the amazing concepts and other revelations stories. Another important showcase on this Vegas-based auto show is that of the Ford Ranger.

Quite interestingly, despite the current generation Ranger being in the market for quite some time now, the home country (USA) had it not before this year. Hence, it is quite natural that the new pickup truck would be receiving a few modified versions at the show. To be precise, there are seven of the custom-built models in total showcased on the event. The modifications done on these models include light changes as well as heavy additions to the original version.

The one of these is designed by Air Design USA and has been approved by Ford. The extra additions include a spoiler each for the tailgate and rear cab, bumper flares, door rocker mouldings, etc. Another one is the Xbox-inspired version modified by the Addictive Desert Design. It has the suspension tuning from Fox and off-road biased coil overs. RIGID LED lights and steel bumpers are given on the front and rear.

Moving ahead, the Project Nightfall Ranger is completely opposite to the Xbox. It is designed to be driven in both the cities as well as the rough off-tracks, thanks to the large alloy wheels and all-terrain tyres. There are steel bumpers given on the front and rear.

Another showcased mode is the Baja-Military Ranger that boasts on electric suspension. It is finished in Military Matte Green colour and has steel bumpers. Further, the Project Ranger X is another offroad-themed pickup on the block. It may not appear to be so, but has extreme modifications done like extending of the wheelbase and customisation of the drivetrain. The rear deck is not in place here and has been replaced with a Knapheide utility box that has a custom-built rack. It has full-fledged offroad mud-terrain tyres and six inches of lift.

Up next, the Ranger Base Camp has been designed for the outlander crowd and is a wild combination of offroading capabilities and camping on a starry night. It has steel bumpers and a good lift of three inches.

And finally comes the model developed by Ford Performance itself, the Ranger Pre-Runner. There are LED light bars on the steel bumper up front and also skid plates. It gets a 3-inch lift kit too.

Does look like a very interesting fleet of modified Ford Rangers, isn’t it?
