Geely PH vows to further strengthen network in H2

MANILA: During its mid-year dealer conference, Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) emphasized its goal to strengthen its efforts in expanding the Geely dealer network in the country this year.

SGAP President and Chief Executive Officer Yosuke Nishi stated, “In the past months, we have been focusing on intensifying our network expansion efforts, opening up dealerships, one after another. This shall continue on the second half of the year as we give utmost importance in establishing our brand with our existing vehicles and increasing our market presence in preparation for better sales coverage on our current and upcoming models.”

According to a report by the SGAP’s Network Development officials, SGAP was able to simultaneously open 15 new dealerships and start 17 new dealer franchise projects. Several new projects are also scheduled this year to further boost Geely’s market presence in the country.

Aside from unveiling its future plans, SGAP also presented Geely’s industry sales performance for the first half of the year during the virtual conference.

According to reports by CAMPI and AVID, the Geely Coolray was able to secure a top-selling record in the subcompact SUV segment from January to June 2021. Geely was also able to maintain its number nine ranking in total industry sales for the first half of the year.

Despite the current pandemic situation, Geely Philippines is focused on strengthening its brand in the country and reach through its existing models this year, dealer after dealer.

Nishi said, “No matter how the global situation continues to play out, let us always maintain a growth mindset, a mindset that led our young brand to where it is in the market right now.”
