Honda SEMA Show lineup celebrates 60 years in the US
MANILA: With SEMA Show about to open, Honda decided to highlight its 60 years in the US by offering an awesome lineup of tricked-out vehicles and motorbikes in its booth. The highlight of their display will focus on a pair of 2020 CR-V –a 2020 CR-V Hybrid and a 2020 CR-V “Dream” built by Jsport Performance Accessories with the theme “overlander” and “weekend warrior.”
The overlander-themed CR-V “Dream” is customized for the less beaten path and adventure seekers looking to be self-reliant during travel. It features an organization cabinet and a slide-out refrigerator on the cargo area, and a clamshell-style rooftop tent. Other modifications include a 1.5-inch lift kit, side steps, front bumper, rear tire gate, roof rack, and a 17-inch KMC off-road wheels with Nitto Ridge Grappler all-terrain tires.
On the other hand, the weekend warrior-themed CR-V Hybrid “Do” is created by Jsport with the “weekend warrior” in mind, someone who needs a versatile vehicle that will transport him or her to the nearest trailhead, while retaining the everyday practicality that the CR-V provides.
Modifications include a 1.5-inch lift kit, side steps, and roof basket from Jsport, 17-inch KMC off-road wheels with Nitto Terra Grappler all-terrain tires, and a Cannondale mountain bike mounted to the roof basket.
Besides the 2020 Honda CR-V customized with Jsport Performance Accessories, other Honda cars on display to watch out for in the SEMA are:
- Ridgeline HFP Concept with Lifestyle Accessories: Lifted and mounted with 18-inch bronze-finish alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires and can be equipped with Thule bed bike fork mounts, Xsporster bed rack, and Kukenam 3 tent perfect for outdoor adventure.
- Rally Passport: Built by Honda R&D associates to showcase the performance potential and off-road capabilities of 2019 Passport. Modifications included a roll cage, Maxxis RAZR MT Tires on Braid Wheels, Carbotech brake pads, skid plates in the front and rear, and a hand-operated hydraulic brake.
- Heritage Chevy Truck with Vintage Cub and CB160: An exact reproduction of the original delivery trucks used by American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM) shortly after first opening for business in 1959.
- 1968 Honda S800 Coupe “Outlaw”: Modified Coupe with a custom exhaust system by GReddy, custom body kit which consist of custom flares, a custom air dam, and a suspension that’s 2 inches lower than stock, broader fender flares, and stock steel wheels wrapped in Toyo R888R tires.
- Honda Super Tuner Legends Series Winner: N600. A quirky car powered by a Honda VFR 800cc V4 motorcycle engine on a modified Mazda Miata suspension system.
- Honda Tuning 2018 Civic Si Project by Super Street Magazine: Modified by Super Street editors, it features an intake and intercooler kit, an ECU re-flash, complete front-to-rear exhaust system and a complete turbo kit with downpipe.
- Jeanneret Racing and Olson Kustom Works Civic Si Drift Car. Chassis, engine and body modifications on the Civic performed in-house in collaboration with Jeanneret Racing and Olson Kustom Works.
- Super Street 2000 Civic Si Challenge Winner. A1999 Honda Civic Si modified by Super Street magazine.
