Jaecoo J7 SHS now in PH

MANILA: Months after being previewed at the Manila International Auto Show 2025, the Jaecoo J7 SHS has officially made its Philippine debut.

According to the Chinese automaker’s local arm, the latest new energy vehicle in the country marks the arrival of a formidable contender in the segment — providing local car buyers a new option in the market.

“In recent years, the Philippine automotive market has shown robust growth momentum, while consumer demand for fuel efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability has been steadily rising. With its super low fuel consumption, super range, and super performance, Jaecoo J7 SHS is poised to deliver an unprecedented driving experience for local consumers, positioning itself as the one and only choice in the country's hybrid vehicle segment,” Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines noted in a statement.

The Jaecoo J7 SHS is equipped with an OJ Super Hybrid System made up of an electric motor that powers the front wheels and is mated to a fifth-generation 1.5-liter direct inject turbo gasoline engine (acting as range extender).

The aforementioned drivetrain — which offers Full Electric, Series Hybrid, Parallel Hybrid, and Energy Recovery (regen) drive modes — is mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission and an 18.3-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery.

Such a powertrain combination has the capacity to dish out:

Based on the Verification Range Test that the Automobile Association Philippines conducted earlier this year, the vehicle exceeded the published extended range of more than 1,200 kilometers (km) after its evaluators covered 1,488.8 kilometers on a full fuel tank and a single charge.
