MANILA: Jaecoo Philippines, the twin brand of Omoda Philippines, shared that the J6 electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) has received an “enthusiastic response” from Filipino car buyers.

    As such, Jaecoo Philippines shared that the nameplate has generated a strong market interest, as evidenced by the “growing number of reservations” from customers eager to experience a new level of electric mobility. 

    “As electric mobility continues to gain momentum in the Philippines, Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines are redefining what drivers can expect from an electric SUV with the Jaecoo J6,” the brand wrote in a press release. 

    “Combining advanced EV (electric vehicle) technology, intelligent features, bold styling, and everyday practicality, the all-electric SUV empowers Filipino motorists to go further with confidence — whether navigating city streets or embarking on weekend adventures,” it added.

    Electric powertrain 

    Depending on the variant, the Jaecoo J6 could either be powered by a single electric motor at the rear wheels or a dual-electric motor setup on both axles.

    The rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant produces 184 horsepower and 220 Newton-meters (Nm), while the all-wheel drive (AWD) trim makes as much as 275 horses and 385 Nm of torque. 

    Juice comes from a 69.77 kilowatt-hour Lithium Iron Phosphate battery, which gives it a driving range of up to 421 kilometers. For added convenience, the Jaecoo J6 supports direct current fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30 to 80 percent in approximately 30 minutes. 

    Bold exterior 

    Outside, it wears a bold-looking exterior with plenty of straight lines and boxy dimensions. 

    At the fore is a clean fascia, with only the “JAECOO” script and sleek, L-shaped light clusters on its front end. The front bumper shares a simple, minimalist layout.

    To its sides are flared wheel arches with decent cladding and a side sill garnish that extends to the bottom of the doors. The Jaecoo J6 rides on a set of 19-inch tires with 245/5 rubber. 

    Its rear end gets a plain tailgate and, in classic SUV fashion, has a side-opening door.

    Notable too is its ground clearance at 225 millimeters (mm), and its water wading capacity of 600 mm. The approach angle is at 32 degrees, while the departure angle is at 34 degrees. 

    Smart interior 

    The cabin of the Jaecoo J6 looks smart and modern with a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, 15.6-inch floating infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Sony premium sound system, 360-degree panoramic camera, panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable seats, and a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems.

    “Built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform, the Jaecoo J6 combines refined ride comfort with capable performance. Its generous ground clearance, multiple drive modes, and intelligent all-wheel-drive system on the AWD variant provide confidence across city streets, highways, and light off-road terrain, making it an ideal companion for Filipino drivers with active lifestyles,” Jaecoo Philippines stated.
