Jetour T1 gets 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating

MANILA: The Jetour T1 has received a five-star rating from the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP).

After undergoing rigorous tests based on four assessment categories, the sport utility vehicle from Chery’s sub-brand got a total of score of 86.67 points

Here is the breakdown of The Jetour T1’s scores under the four ASEAN NCAP 2021-2025 categories:

Such results came out after the Jetour T2 was given the same rating after it underwent the 2021-2025 protocol.

The ASEAN NCAP attributed Jetour T1’s scores to its numerous safety features like the six airbags, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system, seatbelt reminder system for front and rear occupants, rear seat detection, child presence detection, ISOFIX for child safety seats, blind spot detection for the driver- and front passenger-side, and pedestrian protection.

This compact crossover also has driver assistive technologies such as:

• Autonomous Emergency Braking (for city, inter-urban, and pedestrian as standard; motorcycle as optional)
• Lane departure warning
• Forward collision warning
• Lane keep assist
• Auto high beam

Per ASEAN NCAP, the Jetour T1 is the final model that has been assessed under the 2021-2025 protocol as all assessments starting this year will be conducted under the new 2026–2030 procedure.

Unveiled in the Philippines last October, the Jetour T1 is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain made up of a 1.5-liter inline-four gasoline-powered engine, an electric motor, and a 26.7-kilowatt-hour battery.

Power is sent to the wheels via the single-speed dedicated hybrid transmission.

Giving the vehicle the capability to cover up to 1,200 kilometers is its energy bank, which can be topped up from 30-80 percent state of charge in 30 minutes through its CCS2 port.

On paper, the vehicle measures 4,705 millimeters (mm) long; 1,967 mm wide; and 1,843 mm tall with a 200-mm ground clearance.

Available in Khaki White, Sand Gold, Electroplated Green, Night Black, and Silver Snow, the Philippine-retailed Jetour T1 carries a P1.898-million price tag.
