Mazda CX-90 receives 2023 Top Safety Pick+ award

MANILA: The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the 2024 Mazda CX-90 a Top Safety Pick+ award.

To receive a 2023 Top Safety Pick+ award, the vehicle must receive “Good” ratings in the driver- and passenger-side small overlap front tests, original moderate overlap front test, and updated side test. It must also earn a “Good” or “Acceptable” rating for headlights, and “Advanced” or “Superior” ratings for daytime and nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention

Launched in North America in January, the 2024 CX-90 is based on a new, large platform with a front-engine, rear-wheel-biased longitudinal layout that enhances Mazda's renowned driving performance. It comes standard with i-Activsense safety features, such as smart brake support, blind spot monitoring, and Mazda Radar Cruise Control.

“Safety is a top priority at Mazda and our engineers work tirelessly to continually improve our crashworthiness and crash avoidance technologies to meet and exceed increasingly rigorous testing standards,” Mazda North American Operations President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Donnelly stated.

The 2024 CX-90 is slated to arrive in the Philippines within the year, as announced by Mazda Philippines President Steven Tan during the launch of the CX-60 in June.
