Mitsubishi PH breaches 81K sales record for FY 2023

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has sold more than 81,000 units from April 2023 to March 2024. 

Per the local arm of the Japanese car brand, it managed to turn over a total of 81,473 vehicles to its customers in the Philippines. The said number translated to a n 18.5 percent market share in the country’s overall automotive industry. 

“We focused on a customer-centric approach the past years, aiming to provide wonderful car life experience to Filipinos. We highlighted experience as an important part of a customer's purchasing journey. And we’re very grateful to our valued customers, dealers, suppliers, and business partners for their positive feedback on this approach and for their continued support to the Mitsubishi Motors brand,” MMPC outgoing President and Chief Executive Officer Takeshi Hara said.

Compared to the previous fiscal year’s sales of 60,630, MMPC recorded a significant sales growth of 34 percent. 

Its notable sales drivers were the Mitsubishi Mirage, Xpander, and L300. 

With the higher production capacity of MMPC’s plant in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, the brand was able to locally produce more units and sell 26,139 Mitsubishi Mirage cars and 24,178 Xpander multi-purpose vehicles. MMPC sold a total of 13,101 L300 light commercial vehicles. 

“Ending FY 2023 on a high note, MMPC aims to maintain the momentum and continue to drive towards further growth and success for FY 2024. With an already exciting product lineup and additional new models to be introduced within the year, the company is well-positioned to continue exceeding expectations and shaping the future of automotive industry in the Philippines,” MMPC wrote in a press release.
