Mitsubishi Philippines Revealed Sales Report For The First Half 2016 - 21 Percent Growth Recorded
MANILA: It's post-mid-July and all the automotive brands available in the Philippines are busy working on their half yearly sales report. While Ford Philippines has already announced its growth of 61 percent achieved in the first half of 2016 in comparison to the same tenure of 2015, other automakers are still compiling the data to flaunt it in front of the customers. Out of 42 automotive brands available in the Philippines, Mitsubishi Philippines has also prepared its sheet and proudly announced its 21 percent of increased sales between January to June 2016 than that of 2015. Though CAMPI is yet to announce the market report for the first half 2016 but the aforementioned growth percent assures us that Mitsubishi is standing firmly on the 2nd spot as per the sales in the country.
Mitsubishi Philippines, in its report, stated that the sales of passenger cars have seen a tremendous hike in sales counting to 26 percent which is 10,083. Well, we think that the credits should be given to Mitsubishi Mirage 2016 which was launched in April this year and brought a boom in the hatch segment. The remarkable fuel efficiency, practicality, affordability and class-leading features of Mirage and Mirage G4 helped the Japanese giant in fetching such exciting numbers. Mitsubishi Philippines has played smartly all this time to capture a big pie of market share by launching its updated cars at an appropriate time. Also, there were various promos and free services offered to the customers at times to encourage the sales. Though the news about the fuel economy scandal in the Mitsubishi cars brought the renowned Japanese name under the scanner, but the brand took the matter on priority and sort it in no time.
The growth is not only observed in the passenger cars segment but also in the Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) with a hike of 16.8 percent achieving sales counting to 19,421 units. In this segment Adventure and L300 drives are champions. The sedan-dominated market, the Philippines automotive market, is also witnessing a big boom in the truck segment which is evident with the numbers floated by Mitsubishi Philippines. The automaker recorded sales of 854 units of trucks which is 54.7 percent more than the first half of 2015.
MMPC is not only excited with the overall first half 2016 sales report but is setting the mood to party for achieving the best ever sales numbers for June since it landed in the Philippines. In June 2016 itself, the company sold as many as 5,771 drives from which Montero Sport contributed 1,146 units. It is noted that the same drive was launched in January this year and had to go through fuel emission testing in UK laboratory. Though the drive was under scanner but it did not affect its popularity in our country and sold 4,549 units till June 2016.
Mitsubishi Philippines has set a target of selling at least 65,000 units in this calendar year, which seems like achievable keeping the sales report of the first half in mind. A total of 30,358 units have already been sold between January and June 2016 and it doesn't look that difficult for the Japanese automaker to touch its target in the remaining 6 months. Well, this means we Filipinos can expect more promos and freebies from the manufacturer. And who knows, a new Mitsubishi may land on the Filipino soil!
