MMPC commences coastal cleanup activity along Laguna Lake’s shorelines

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), together with local government units, and other institutions in Santa Rosa City, has commenced a massive coastal cleanup activity on Laguna Lake.

Per MMPC, this activity was held in celebration of this year’s International Coastal Cleanup, which is a worldwide initiative aimed at helping protect marine environments. In Laguna Lake, the said activity was spearheaded by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office of Santa Rosa, Laguna, while the MMPC group of volunteers was led by the company’s Vice President for Safety, Health and Environment Marfel Ancheta. 

In total, the MMPC group managed to collect around 1.5 tons of trash from Laguna Lake’s shorelines in Barangay Caingin. According to the brand’s local arm, the aforementioned will help provide the locale with a healthier ecosystem and cleaner waterways. 

MMPC’s presence at this year’s International Coastal Cleanup drive shows what private-public cooperative action is capable of. Likewise, it has reaffirmed the private sector’s commitment to promoting environmental responsibility.

Other MMPC updates

Apart from holding significant corporate social responsibility initiatives, MMPC also maintained its second national ranking amongst locally present car brands according to the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) September 2025 report. In the first nine months of the year, MMPC has sold 65,421 units, accounting for a 19.05 percent market share. 

MMPC likewise confirmed the local arrival of the Destinator three-row crossover on November 20, 2025. Homologation papers from The Land Transportation Office also indicate that the Japanese brand’s local arm could be reviving the Versa van nameplate soon. 

Back in September 2025, MMPC also opened its 68th dealership in the country. It is located at Ilocos Sur, and is operated and owned by the NAMCO Sur Corporation.
